Fix pasting of images
Pasting images is somewhat supported - see https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public-preview/suggestions/16925587-ability-to-paste-images) but is not correctly implemented (at least on Windows).
Using Google Chrome, if I right click on any image on a webpage and select "Copy Image", I can not paste it into Teams. I can paste this on competitors products, such as HipChat and of course into MS Paint.
There are different issues pasting from other browsers. Edge and IE both paste a blank image. Firefox has similar behavior to Chrome (nothing is pasted at all).
This is a very common use case - pasting an image from a web page. Please make it work!
You should experience significant improvements in copy & paste of images within Teams, as well as to & from Teams. We are aware of a few remaining issues, but the most common cases are resolved.
Thanks again for your patience on this one.
Why is this standard feature after this long period still not fixed?!
Also having a lot of troubles with this, specially last week

I had the same issue, but for my chat partner they showed up fine.
Also, when I switched to another Teams "App" like the Calendar and back, the pictures showed up fine for me.
That being said, copying images FROM teams is still nigh impossible for me.
Coming from the sniping tools...i dont works...always got the broken icon...3 years and still no fix!
This should have work from day 1 COME ON !

3 years later and cut and paste is still buggy as ****. I pasted three images in a group chat, they first appeared and after a while on my side it looked like this.
I can't believe our organisation is standardizing on such a buggy tool.
Its 2020 and this is still a problem.

Hi, as "https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/users/980893678-darwin-collins" said, links of pasted images are showed out as broken links. But, maybe one hour later, the image is restored and it will be visible.
If the image pasted has transparency, it won't paste. Very strange. Not sure if that helps. Someone posted that here and I just tried it.

Coworker pastes image into Teams desktop. I try to click on the image to zoom in, and it displays a broken image. ;(

Grab a partial screen grab using MS Snip & Sketch, paste into Teams, I get a preview, but when I click on it, the screen greys as if it going to show the preview, and it just shows a small "missing image" icon. Come on people, this is a version 0.1 feature.

When I use snipping tool to capture an image, when I paste it into a chat in Teams, all that appears is the tiny image file.
What's a work around?

Still doesn't work. I can get the image to appear, but after closing teams and reopening I find the image is gone. The text is there, but not the image. I have coped the image from Snagit and from Outlook. It does appear saving my images to a disk file and inserting from the disk file does work. Please fix as I am finding it difficult to roll Teams out to my clients because of these small, but important, issues.
We were considering changing to Teams for our company collaboration, but if we can't paste a simple screen grab into the chat then we'll have to move on to something else. I use <Windows Key> + <SHIFT> + <S> so many times a day the labels have worn off of the keys. It's actually quite mind boggling that this is even something that needs to be discussed, let alone fought for like this. It's 2020, copying and pasting is not a new concept...
A workaround seems to be:
CTRL + SHIFT + V
then CTRL + V
It works for me when copying the image from Snagit.

Recommended way is:
Print the picture (black&withe usually will do it), take a picture of the printed copy with your phone, post in the right conversation. Easy.

Copying from Snagit to the clipboard and then pasting into Teams is not working.
I have to do my work in snag it and then use the snipping tool to copy and paste from snag-it.

Our organization began having this problem just today. An image copied to the clipboard (no matter through ctrl-c. the Windows snipping tool, Greenshot, etc) can be pasted into Teams chat but the image won't send. Teams tries for awhile then says it failed.

I am unable to copy an image from Snag It and paste it into Teams.

is there any timeline on when this will be fully fixed? Currently pasting images from SnagIt with a transparent background fail, while images with a tranparent background from Greenshot seem to work just fine
