Fix pasting of images
Pasting images is somewhat supported - see https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public-preview/suggestions/16925587-ability-to-paste-images) but is not correctly implemented (at least on Windows).
Using Google Chrome, if I right click on any image on a webpage and select "Copy Image", I can not paste it into Teams. I can paste this on competitors products, such as HipChat and of course into MS Paint.
There are different issues pasting from other browsers. Edge and IE both paste a blank image. Firefox has similar behavior to Chrome (nothing is pasted at all).
This is a very common use case - pasting an image from a web page. Please make it work!
You should experience significant improvements in copy & paste of images within Teams, as well as to & from Teams. We are aware of a few remaining issues, but the most common cases are resolved.
Thanks again for your patience on this one.
Paste does not work copying images from OneNote to Teams. In order to be able to paste the image into Teams, it is first necessary to change the clipboard image format via a 3rd application (such as a clipboard manager).
It is a bit ironic that two Office 365 apps can't exchange their data directly.
I believe most, if not all, of the reported problems pasting images into Teams stem from unsupported clipboard image format tags.

Not working when using a 3rd-party Snip-It Tool (Greenshot)
Pasting works with Windows-Built-in Snip-It

Confirmed still not working when copy pasting an image from Edge, Firefox and XnView on Windows 10, 64-bit using Teams 1.2.00.27559.
Still not working at all.

Still not working from Chrome->copy image.

Still an issue today - still cannot paste from certain sources - most notable as others have mentioned is from SnagIt to Teams.
I have noticed if I simply screen clip using SnagIt - and immediately paste it does work.
However the minute I annotate anything in SnagIt - the only way to get it into teams is to save / attach... this is really bad.
This used to work without fail. Some upgrade between SnagIt and Teams made this break - I used to do this without issue.
Does not work in edge whatever app you paste into - eg slack
When will you add copy? Why do you have "open online", "download" and "get link" when the most important use case is to copy image and paste into another application?
it appears this still doesn't work in chat, for external or guest contacts.
not fixed. can't paste images from clipboard into chat from any source, I can paste images in conversations within a team.

THIS IS NOT FIXED. I am unable to copy an image from SnagIt (which simply goes to the clipboard) and CTRL-V paste the image into a Teams conversation. Our company is currently using Slack and is thinking of transferring to Teams. However, this is a DEAL-BREAKER. We all use SnagIt to paste many images a day into Slack and other programs that have no bugs with this feature.

Pasting images directly and attaching image formats like jpg, png and gif in Microsoft Teams conversation is not working in both desktop application and in web app, user in the other end is not receiving the image, for long time it is only showing sending or uploading and finally fails, Please help,

Pasting from a Teams wiki to another Teams wiki from within the Teams Windows desktop app does not work.
Affirming what other comments have said - pasting into Teams works now, pasting OUT of Teams does not.
This forward-fix means that pasting in *NEW* images FROM OneNote works (which is great, thanks!) , but I still cannot copy a screenshot from a user reporting an error to me in teams out to paste INTO OneNote for documenting the fix.
I need it to work both ways.
I would also love the same fix in OneNote to be retroactive - I currently can't copy out of OneNote unless I save as file, and reinsert the picture.

Still doesn't work. I have to use screen-snip to take a picture of the picture, because "copy" doesn't work.
Users say they are no longer able to expand images after this fix.

Teams says I have the latest version, but it's still not working in my case. I'm trying to copy a Teams user's profile pic (right-click on user profile pic, copy image). Can't paste anything in Paint, Word, or anywhere else I tried.

I'm glad I can copy into Teams now, from an email, the Photos app, and Snagit Editor. As others have mentioned, copying out of Teams still is not functioning. Thanks.
This is absolutely NOT fixed. It is still not possible to copy images from the desktop version of Teams to another app.
Open a chat with an image in the stream, click the image to enlarge to full size, right click and select "Copy Image" - the image will be blank in the clipboard manager and is not pasteable to other apps (either blank or not pasteable). I suspect it is not being placed in the clipboard with the correct clipboard format.
I have tried pasting from Teams to Photoshop, Word, and a new Outlook message and none work.

Not being able to copy an image out of teams into Word/Outlook etc is so frustrating, especially when it gives you the option to "Copy Image" !!
