Microsoft Teams desktop has stopped working on my Mac
Since downloading the Microsoft Teams program on my Mac, it typically shut when I wasn't actively using it (problem #1).
Around Thursday afternoon (12/8) when I went to open the program again, it wouldn't open except a screen that says "Checking your connection...
Yikes! Looks like someone pulled the plug on the internet."
I can confirm I am connected to the internet and all my other applications work.
My Mac is on OS X El Capitan, 10.11.6
that sh*t doesn't work on my macbook with yosemite and i can see the microsoft absolutely doesn't care about that. because after the time passed they do not speak anything.
hi, i am using Mac os Yosemite 10.10 , my teams keep show me this The Teams desktop app will become incompatible with macOS 10.10 on June 15th. To continue using Teams, upgrade macOS." i will like to check if i do not want to update to latest Mac OS, will teams still work in the older OS? or it cannot be use anymore?
I haven't been able to log into the MS Teams desktop app on my macbook in over a week. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, and deleted all the files on my computer related to teams. Nothing has worked.
Teams refuses to start up despite <Ac updated 10.15.4 (latest of today), the spinning wheel forever and application not working at all.. Seriously, Microsoft and Apple need to work as a TEAMS...

teams wont update on mac, wont fix from reinstalling. Once again Microsoft doesn't care. Who even wants to use the online version?

Teams refuses to start up despite repeatedly re-installing, I just get the spinning wheel and application not responding on the taskbar, requiring force quit. Even the web version is incompatible with Safari. Obviously Microsoft and Apple are not on the same Team....Running 10.15.3
I had severe issues with Teams refusing to startup any windows, and behaved erratically. Seemed to solve it by deleting ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.teams . Running OS X 10.15.2

I've had this issue for a while and when we contacted Microsoft Support - the only thing that the support engineer suggested was to reinstall MS Teams and logout/login. Then he pointed us to the page and told us that the issue will eventually be fixed. After 2 1/2 years I highly doubt it - this seems like a rare but real bug with the MacOS application and Microsoft just doesn't care enough to fix it.
For me Teams for Mac just disasters when in use. I will start Teams like today and even edit a word document from teams, when I go back to the Teams app, oh wait I cannot BECAUSE IT IS NO LONGER RUNNING!
no close down messages, no teams quit unexpectedly, it just quietly closes itself in the background.
I miss chats, as its not integrated with Skype! and I have to start teams at least 5 times a day IF I REMEMBER. This really makes me HATE Teams as its not useable for me yet this is where my organisation is heading. One very frustrated user!!!!!
BTW I have re-installed I don't know how many times and I the all of the updates as they arrive its just rubbish at the moment!
There is a huge latency when using the mac app, please fix this.

Every day, it's the same sh**t....open MacBook, try and open Teams, Teams doesn't load, try again, nope...reinstall the software, Team then works from the new install, MEANWHILE any important messages have to be sent by good old fashioned email. What idiot bought the Teams license for this company? FFS.
Hello Microsoft, what is the status for Teams on Mac?
Teams on OS X is a god-awful abomination. I have yet to see it work on two subsequent uses without requiring me to delete files from caches or completely reinstall the program, or both. What a mess.
The problem looks very similar to me. That's why I even deleted and reinstalled the program today including AppCleaner, which did not have any effect.
It seems like one just has to wait for "ages" until the program fully loads and comes up now. I literally have to start it and wait for 3-4 minutes. Then all of the sudden the program will load and I can use it to the full capacity.
Still very mispleasing that one does not even get any note about what is going on after one started the program.

Microsoft Teams has stopped working for me. The App icon just bounced then stopped (Not Responding). Reinstalling and cleaning up cache did not help. Couldn’t find any error messages or log entries that might give some indication for this problem.

Having the same problem. I am frustrated this was opened up 6 moths ago and the app still crashes after inactivity!
Same issue on macOS Sierra 10.12.4. Network connection is great, but Teams app thinks there's no connection.
