Multiple Notifications Bugs
We have been testing Microsoft Teams for almost a week now, while we love the product; however, it is proving to be counter productive when it stops sending notifications, we are using alternative means to notify each other to check messages on MS Teams.
What we noticed for example is that if discussions continue in a thread for over a day, no new notifications whatsoever are being triggered. In some occasions, even though we have an ongoing discussion, notifications stop, but only work if you tag the other person, but again, this is not a new thread, so it shouldn't require this.
If you start a new thread, notifications resume, but not all of them. For example, sometimes I only have sound, sometimes the task bar icon starts flashing, and often we don't get a notification badge on the right of the screen.
We also experience that we do not get a dock notifications when the macOS app is in the background. We need to cmd+w (close the window) after each message so teams will show the notification.
Please fix this issue since important messages does not get the required attention.
This issue needs serious attention.

Notifications come in with over 1 h delay in Outlook for us, testing for few weeks now. Sometimes we get 'missed msg notification' hours after we actually saw it ...
Come on Microsoft. This is almost 2 years old now, how is this not fixed?
I can say notifications stop working for my teams as well.
Not sure why this thread was closed listing all the other links that are just enhancements from what I can tell, when what this thread is about is clear bugs for the existing notification. Notifications are useless from my experience because they don't seem to work most of the time.
Messages also not showing up as discussed here https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/messages-not-showing-up/td-p/144660
This is definitely an issue we're experiencing as well. Inconsistent or delayed notifications from DM's or Teams/Channels.
The activity feed can also be a bit slow to update when someone deletes a message, which can leave some hunting for a message that no longer exists in a conversation.

I continually have to re-follow channels I have followed already multiple times a day. Additionally, I have un-favorited a Team, but it still shows that I am following it.
Same issue here. We were going to use teams but found it way to flaky and unreliable for communication. Until these issues can be fixed I guess we will be looking elsewhere.

Sometimes I don't appear to get any notifications, while at other times I get them on my desktop or my mobile or, on one occasion, both.
My colleagues are getting a similar experience.
All of the notifications appear to be setup OK (e.g. banner and email) and I have been unable to work out any pattern of when I have received notifications on either or both of my devices.
Sound is not working for notifications. Sound from other apps works fine. Hmm.
Yes, we also experience failure of audio and visual notifications in the MacOS version of MS Teams. When I click the "Video call" or "Audio call" icons in MS Teams, the person I call hears NO audible notification that I am calling him/her, if he/she is using the MacOS desktop version of MS Teams. The Windows version plays sounds, but sounds are broken in the MacOS version. The visual notification banner/popup is also faulty in the MacOS version. The video call feature is practically useless when I try to call colleagues using MacOS because they usually miss my calls because they don't see or hear the notification that someone is calling them. It is very frustrating.
Yes, the notifications are useless and rarely work. Rather a must-have feature for a chat app.
Basically all of this issues could be solved if Teams was using system notifications: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/31513882-system-notifications-on-macos

We are experiencing this issue too, so hopefully it is fixed soon!
Same in our office. Banner notification often do not show up at all, and conversation is not updated unless I will click around the channels in application.
I have the same issue. It is very frustrating. I have to click around the conversations every now and then to check, if I received messages. There are no notifications.
Actually, there is a similar issue on this item:
Could make sense to merge them.

Same issue using Microsoft Teams Version 1.0.00.22051 on macOS 10.12.6

I have the same issue on a daily basis. To see new messages, I have to click around conversations. This happenes both on one-on-one conversations and in teams.
I do get the messages right away on the mobile phone (iPhone 6), however not on the web app. Only by clicking around several times and somtime even 1-2 hours later.
