Using Teams Offline
MULTIPLE USERS reporting offline needs:
Generally want to use Teams offline:
If I am offline it would be great to browse through Teams and Channels in case I have to lookup some informations.
Also viewing the latest notes in "Notes" on teams would be great.
It would be enough to have "Read only" - for the moment my Teams app does not even open when I am offline
Compared on my mobile - I can read all posts while I am offline.
Edit while offline:
just been using teams wiki to take and share notes in a meeting. when the connection dropped we were all kicked out of the teams application and weren't able to read what had been put. when the connection came back up, half of the notes were missing. There needs to be better handling of offline mode and a way to carry on working and sync changes when the connection comes back or at very least a way to read offline
Sending messages to offline contacts:
I had thought this was already the case, but it would be nice if we could send private messages to Teams contacts who are offline, and have that message pop up for them whenever they next log in.
There are instances when I have a thought I would like to share with a co-worker and it would be helpful if I could send them a private chat message that they will later receive, regardless of whether they are currently online or not.
Access files offline:
I need to do this on our construction sites.
We are working on a better experience in Teams when a user is not connected to the internet. No timeline to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
Stopped all further roll out due to missing offline capability . Seems nothing is happening ?? Any timeline available ? Otherwise have to switch to alternatives.

Would be very valuable to reach files, wikis and conversations offline.
Offline availability of files is an important feature and without it Teams is compromised.
This is critical for my team's use case - working across time zones and countries, often with poor / intermittent connections. Extremely frustrating not to be able to view past messages and use the program when not connected to the internet -- will push us towards other platforms.
would be good to go through planner and tasks as well
Come on, of course we need to access chats when we are offline. To use the valuable information which is stored there. To respond to points raised when we have a chance to catch up, which is quite likely to be when we are in transit and off-net.
You must have a pretty distorted view of the real world that most of us live and work in to assume your users are always online. I'm working in London England with corporate clients, so I should be in a relatively good position.

Teams needs to be usable while offline. For example, a team member sends me a message, image, or code snippet that I've downloaded and viewed. While I am in transit or unplugged (to focus) and have no WiFi, Teams cannot be started and these data are not available to me. This is a severe design flaw.

Change your settings for notification. There is by default one hour for sending notifications. You can change it and set it for ASAP.

This would be extremely useful when on construction sites and no access to the site Wi-Fi network.
Slack has this.
Please fix it. Inability to work offline is unacceptable.
It can't be a minority that wants this feature....
Connectivity is not always possible on trains
I'd like a working offline feature too otherwise yes..don't bother uploading anything to it...
Ability to access offline files with Teams
Many users in my environment, request access to files via teams without knowing an alternative method like saving in onedrive, One Note or PP etc.
If a file was available for offline viewing within teams, illiterate and non-tech savvy users will not be inconvenienced by the extra steps needed to open a file offline from a mobile device other than a laptop when instructed to do so.

Welcome to Teams.... so long as you are online of course, otherwise you may as well not bother.

I would like to see the option to make files available whilst offline, not simply have access to only those that have been cached. Separately, but related, it is unclear as to how long these files will remain within the cache.
hi! woking on it since the beginning of May - any update? Really need this! thanks
I need to be able to sync files from Teams into my OneDrive so that I can work on files offline. Otherwise, I just end up with a version in a OneDrive folder that I copy to Teams or vice versa and then I have multiple versions of the truth, which is the opposite of what collaborative working is supposed to enable.
I can sort of do it if I open the Teams site up in SharePoint and then sync, but it feels more like a 'back door' solution than it should be. I should have an icon that says 'sync [to a location I specify on OneDrive]' and then I can always be looking at (and backing up) the latest version.

Edit when offline: View conversations and write notes
Edit files, add new files from PC or downloads
At least read (Edit OneNote, add pages to be updated when online)
Check tasks on Planner within teams, edit them.
All to be updated when online
Any progress on this? This is imperative!
