Using Teams Offline
MULTIPLE USERS reporting offline needs:
Generally want to use Teams offline:
If I am offline it would be great to browse through Teams and Channels in case I have to lookup some informations.
Also viewing the latest notes in "Notes" on teams would be great.
It would be enough to have "Read only" - for the moment my Teams app does not even open when I am offline
Compared on my mobile - I can read all posts while I am offline.
Edit while offline:
just been using teams wiki to take and share notes in a meeting. when the connection dropped we were all kicked out of the teams application and weren't able to read what had been put. when the connection came back up, half of the notes were missing. There needs to be better handling of offline mode and a way to carry on working and sync changes when the connection comes back or at very least a way to read offline
Sending messages to offline contacts:
I had thought this was already the case, but it would be nice if we could send private messages to Teams contacts who are offline, and have that message pop up for them whenever they next log in.
There are instances when I have a thought I would like to share with a co-worker and it would be helpful if I could send them a private chat message that they will later receive, regardless of whether they are currently online or not.
Access files offline:
I need to do this on our construction sites.
We are working on a better experience in Teams when a user is not connected to the internet. No timeline to share at this point, but we will keep you posted.
Change your settings for notification. There is by default one hour for sending notifications. You can change it and set it for ASAP.

This would be extremely useful when on construction sites and no access to the site Wi-Fi network.
Slack has this.
Please fix it. Inability to work offline is unacceptable.
It can't be a minority that wants this feature....
Connectivity is not always possible on trains
I'd like a working offline feature too otherwise yes..don't bother uploading anything to it...
Ability to access offline files with Teams
Many users in my environment, request access to files via teams without knowing an alternative method like saving in onedrive, One Note or PP etc.
If a file was available for offline viewing within teams, illiterate and non-tech savvy users will not be inconvenienced by the extra steps needed to open a file offline from a mobile device other than a laptop when instructed to do so.

Welcome to Teams.... so long as you are online of course, otherwise you may as well not bother.

I would like to see the option to make files available whilst offline, not simply have access to only those that have been cached. Separately, but related, it is unclear as to how long these files will remain within the cache.
hi! woking on it since the beginning of May - any update? Really need this! thanks
I need to be able to sync files from Teams into my OneDrive so that I can work on files offline. Otherwise, I just end up with a version in a OneDrive folder that I copy to Teams or vice versa and then I have multiple versions of the truth, which is the opposite of what collaborative working is supposed to enable.
I can sort of do it if I open the Teams site up in SharePoint and then sync, but it feels more like a 'back door' solution than it should be. I should have an icon that says 'sync [to a location I specify on OneDrive]' and then I can always be looking at (and backing up) the latest version.

Edit when offline: View conversations and write notes
Edit files, add new files from PC or downloads
At least read (Edit OneNote, add pages to be updated when online)
Check tasks on Planner within teams, edit them.
All to be updated when online
Any progress on this? This is imperative!

Please catch up to where Google docs have been for at least 4 years now, teams is such a turkey with multiple users and patchy internet access.

A highly or extremely intermittent would be great (not just all the way offline).
hello, sometimes I need to use the teams without the internet, but it's impossible since when it's not connected, the screen is darkened. the choice of using offline or exporting to excel would be perfect.

teams should allow to download recorded meeting in system so that one can listen that any time anywhere offline too

It would be nice to be able to IM someone when they're offline and have the message be received when they come back online. Ideally this "pounce" function should be explicit rather than a default.
hello John-- re "I echo many of the previous comments about need to access content in MS Teams. Similar to SharePoint and OneDrive, suggest the ability to choose which content is available offline would be a good start if an initial barrier is storage capacity and difficulty of synchronization."-- have you heard anything further?
does anyone at Microsoft read these comments anymore? What happened to Alex?
hello Alex-- any further update? Slack says the same thing, and we are delaying adoption until one of you moves. The race to real offline functionality is the future of team applications.
