Teams uses 600MB and is super slow!
Quotes from various users about memory usage and slow performance:
"Team is a memory hog! 100s MB! Slack is about 50."
"The memory consumption is over 300MB!!! This should be a priority."
"Just started evaluating teams, 500+ MB and 10-15% CPU. This is in a citrix VDI. Does teams use hardware rendering? If so is there a way to turn it off? I had to do this with the rest of Office."
"I dont understand why my Teams application only uses 70MB when other people in my organization are towards half a gig! What is causing this Teams?"
"Make it less CPU heavy, 20% CPU on switch tabs? Really?"
"See attached picture."
Great performance and user experience remain a topmost priority for us. Application launch time has seen improvements in the recent build. We will continue making improvements across the product including channel to chat switching and overall resource consumption.

With the latest update the situation has dramatically worsened
With MS Teams in a meeting, my HP G7 i7 16GB RAM sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
It just coming same issue today, huge memory eat remaining. That's crazy. I can not work in my system if teams bites the memory like this. Please make it normal.
Please provide update on this issue. I am using a second computer to just run MS Teams as it is taking up so much memory makes all the other applications non-responsive.
Teams performance is getting worse. It is regularly using 1Gb to 1.5GB of memory sitting in the back ground. This is causing lag in Teams and other applications. Often needing to reboot the machine to see if releases memory. I have 16GB memory

Still the same Monster-Usage of Teams. Thats not good!
For the Screen: It's an new Lenovo ThinkPad with Core i5 10210U with 8GB of ram and 2 external WQHD Monitors. Everythink its working well, except Teams.
1GB of usage! And I thought Skype was abusive... Slack's usage is about 100MB at most.
Windows 10.... 1.1GB of RAM allocated for Teams. This is an engineering shame.
Teams should reduce memory usage, it shall be a help tool not PC eater.
On another note, how can Teams be using 1.1GB of RAM, when a full Chrome with 7 tabs open is only using 1GB? Seriously, what the **** is it doing?
For the love of God, if you want to know how to do it right look at Zoom! At least that doesn't flatline your CPU and annihilate over a gig of ram just to show some gifs and text! Which moron decided on Electron as the foundation for this bloated pile of crap must seriously have been smoking something dodgy...
When are you planning on recoding this simple app in something sensible so that it works without requiring a ram/cpu upgrade? I'm trying to deploy this on VDI and as if Win10/Chrome wasn't resource intensive enough, along comes this digital turd to completely destroy performance. LEARN TO CODE, MICROSOFT!
MS Teams is literally annihilating my RAM capacity, please fix asap!
Unable to show PowerBI or excel files while on a teams call due to slow service and memory usage. Need this to stop using up so much memory.

Performance much worse now in Version 1.3.00.26064 (64-bit). Joining meetings is taking a long time, Teams is slow and crashing occasionally, and affecting the overall performance of my laptop.
OMG, MS Teams is a memory hog! MS teams is using 4gb of ram on m PC, thank goodness I've got 118GB of free ram. I guess my PC is future proofed for at least the next couple of releases.
I love Teams which makes it so painful to use in its current state. You really need to stop working on everything else and make real Windows, Mac, and Linux clients, this web browser based full client junk isn't working.
My Teams is up around 1100 MB and even when idle is around 950 MB. I've disabled GPU acceleration and it's still at 750 MB. I thought my laptop had been running slower since getting Teams... it has! It's also so slow moving between Teams channels, clicking on Activity or when a chat message comes in or clicking on anything really... not a fun experience.

Please convey that this resource utilization issue is causing us to evaluate staying with Microsoft. We want to move from Box to OneDrive, and centralize on Teams, however its resource utilization is souring that effort. Our CIO had to get a new machine because her 2yr old Surface Pro just couldn't handle Teams even just running in the background. Please raise this up the chain. If we have to choose another tools to replace Teams, the door will be open to shift other Microsoft tools to third party options.
Ive currently just open teams and its already sitting at 850MB memory use without doing anything, when i open a video call i may as well have a single use device
