I think CPU load annoys me even more than memory usage.

Sorry, but I have to pile-on. Teams is great, but Teams is also a beast of an app and a resource hog. Would be nice if it was snappier using it. We have 9th and 10th Gen Core i5 processors with 16GB RAM and Teams still is a little sluggish at times.

Teams need's to utilize less memory. It is debilitating when trying to work on other applications or share applications via teams meeting. This negates a large portion of the usefulness of Teams. My creative team can't participate in meetings without closing out of all Adobe applications, and my account team can't collaborate via teams in PowerPoint or Excel without it crashing.

906MB for me which means my Surface is sitting at 80% Memory, I can barely do anything else with this type of usage!

Teams uses 800 MB out of 2gb Ram and I am not even doing anything, can you please find a way that It will not use roughly 40% of what I have available?
It looks like it takes 40% of what everyone has and uses it, that is not acceptable for an app that I don't use but need to have active on the background

Teams uses 542 MB, and I am not currently using it...

Teams is a memory hog! Using 529 MB and doing nothing!
Please optimize this :-/ -

Just by opening Teams - it takes around 300 mb without doing anything. Still in top 3 by just opening Teams
And if you use it for online meeting , it jump in the top of using resources. -

Teams definitely hits PC performance. I'm using an i7 based PC with 8G RAM and it is just about possible to do other things as well as run Teams.

Looking forward to celebrating the one year anniversary of Alex's empty promises! Performance is shockingly poor on Mac and Teams is one of MS's flagship products. Please please get competent leadership in to prioritise basics over flashy gimmicks.

I can only agree. MS teams is taking a lot of my memory, making pc slow.
Is always in Top3, and mostly at the 1th. place.... NOT good
Normal it's 300+400 MB when I'm not using teams, and if using we go to 400-500MB or even more -

Four years after the initial request and no large reduction in Teams memory usage.
When is the replacement product for Teams going to be released?
Teams has been out over 5 years and very old.

Teams definitely impacts PC performance in an extreme way. and needs to be addressed. Advising users to close other open apps, turn off virtual backgrounds, etc. as a workaround does not address the full issues and actually diminishes the use of modern features users like.

Teams remains a performance hog, bottom-line. Memory utilization may have a improved slightly, but CPU use is still off the charts.

Today seems to be one of the better days, Teams is "only" using 1.3GB of RAM.
Microsoft, you should be utterly ashamed of yourselves for pushing out this diabolical piece of badly written, unreliable and resource hogging crud. It's truly awful. PLEASE can you fix this?! It's been FOUR YEARS for heavens sake!

Dear @Admin, it's been almost a year since the last update from you and covid-19 has made us even more dependent on Teams. Can we please deprioritise functions like "together mode" and instead focus on this performance issue? Thanks.

Always hogs my memory, today 786MB, 10% of available RAM. Not acceptable for professional use.

Why even when I clear everything, restart fresh, etc. Teams is still using anywhere between 800 and 1GB of ram???? How is this acceptable in such a prolific application? Don't you guys have any standards over there??? How can you ship an application which for many users will consume 1/8th or more of their available RAM.

This is still terrible. My company gave me an Intel i3 machine and when I'm in a Teams meeting, CPU usage is constantly 100% and it becomes borderline unusable.
