Pretty cool that a "topmost priority" has gone on for 4 years

Why do I have to wait 10 to 20 seconds to type a note in a chat? Come on guys... I cannot believe anyone from Microsoft uses Teams for anything in their daily work.

Using Teams in a virtual environment is nearly impossible at the moment. Teams uses 100% CPU causing all VMs become nearly unusable.

Please rectify this, as it slows down my ability to do my job. Hogs all the CPU and then everything else runs slowly. It seems to be the video, as I turn off my video, and CPU usage is normalized. I consistently see teams using 1/3 of my CPU while in video meeting.

Just got a new laptop with 16 GB memory, upgraded from 8 GB. At about the same time, my company migrated to Teams from Skype. My new laptop is slower than the old one! It is always running at about 75% memory utilization and is always paging data to disk. Teams shows as the top memory consumer in Task Manager at about 900MB. Thus, the PC is very slow. Teams should be LEAN to support a variety of devices. Does Teams have a memory leak?

Teams desktop for Windows 10 continues to be close to unusable - typically consuming >1gb of memory on my low RAM machine during a video call and >0.6gb when idle and minimised.
This is on a Windows 10 enterprise (managed) laptop that was imaged / installed 6 months ago. Teams is version 1.3.00.30866 (64-bit).
I try to use the web and Android clients as often as possible to avoid the hassle but I need to access some desktop-only features.

There is no CPU usage while it is failing to switch pages. None of the data has changed so I assume it is needlessly contacting a massively overloaded server.

I only use the webapp because the desktop application is unusable on my laptop (lenovo i5 16Go)

Video calls drain the battery very quickly. (macbook pro 2018)

Keen to know - based on Microsoft`s 14-Feb-2020 comment - where we are now almost 12 months later. The performance of teams is still very much disappointing as it consumes >800MB and >20% of CPU - this is not sustainable

Making **** of home schooling. Why the heck does Teams have to suck up the entire CPU to deliver a video call? Other calling options allow my child to keep going with their lessons. Sort out a lite option ASAP!

I have a 1 year old Lenovo Yoga laptop with 8 GB of fixed memory. It works great for everything I do, until I use Teams. Any amount of memory that I manage to free up, Teams just gobbles up. Teams is a memory hog and should have restrictions on how much memory it can use. Unfortunately, I cannot add physical memory to the laptop since it's soldered in. Please fix the memory hog issue. This has been ongoing since my company started using Teams in April 2020.

This just uses WAY too much CPU (my biggest issue), as well as RAM. It also opens a lot of separate processes.
My guess is that it is not a clear tool, but a whole collection of separate tools integrated in a very poor-performance manner, giving delays, poor experience, and huge consumption of PC resources.
Please focus every efforts to make it much lighter on resource usage - almost everyone needs Teams to be something always on in the background whilst you perform other work, so it should be no more than 5%-10% of PC resources, not 30% to 80% of PC resources....

10 seconds just to view my calendar and that is on an i5
The age of the hardware seems to be much more important than the performance. My office PC is only about 20% faster but in Teams it is about 10x faster to the point where it is usable. Something is terribly terribly wrong, especially in MS's testing which should have picked this up long ago. The developers need to lose all their shiny new PCs and get some Ivy Bridge Celerons. -

I have been undergoing job training recenlty through Microsoft Teams, I have a Intel Core i7-10750H CPU @ 2.6GHZ with 5GHZ boost, 16GB RAM, with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GDDR6 @ 6GB (192bits) in my gaming laptop. Just running Microsoft teams with Amazon workspaces and Google Chrome with a couple of webpages open it is using a total of 95.2% of RAM As per the Asus ROG Amoury Crate monitor. I use Pro Tools and Adobe Premiere Pro alongside Google Chrome on a regular basis and never get past 65% RAM usage surely this isn't right?

Seems a common issue with electron apps that are using video. Its not just teams with the problem. Have a look at jitsi (https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/issues/5464) very similar issues. If open source developers are correct then the issue is the browser and framework. Explains why this is going on 4 years as Microsoft is not fixing browsers or electron. You would think in 4 years they would have recognised the issue and rewritten the application for customer experience.

This has been going on for 4 years according to the comments and people are still experiencing issues, sometimes more than in the past! Even chrome is able to move between tabs almost instantly, while Teams takes 10 seconds to load the class notebook page, and makes everything on my laptop slow to almost a halt, and I can sit in a meeting with my camera on, 2 other cameras actually on, and 2 covered cameras, yet it still uses 180mb. There's very little movement in the videos, and its using more storage than the system. This is insane!

Teams is currently using 2.45GB of RAM. I have a single chat window open and nothing else.
This is an appalling piece of software. I despair.

It's frustrating, MS Teams is making my laptop "Handicap". Dear Admin, please remove the unnecessary features and try to make it user friendly. The interface is pretty okay, please look at it's resources usage. Thanks.
