Let us make the font size bigger (Zooming)
Make a way to make the font size in the application bigger.
The zoom feature has released to the public ring. Using CRTL + or CTRL – zoom in and out on a Windows PC.
I need to correct the information I provided last month about MAC. It appears the MAC version is still in testing and hasn’t yet gone out to the public. It is “In Testing” but will be coming to the public soon!
The item tracking this specific update can be found at: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/admin/v3/suggestions/16933183/activity
There now is a UI element that tells you your current zoom level and a Setting within the UI to preset your zoom preference.
Since the zoom feature could very well cover the vast majority of user needs, based on the majority of comments and feedback, I will flag this item as Partially Done.
Thank you for all the feedback and support!

This helps... but there are TWO problems:
1) Increasing the GUI size means it now steals even more screen real-estate. Why can't I tell the app I want the fonts sized up 140% without sizing up the GUI?
2) You forgot the pop-out chat window. I can at least read the contents of the main window. The pop out is useless to me because it's so tiny I cannot read it.
By the way, please don't reply with "oh, well, just adjust your font scaling in Windows." I'm a software developer, so I know that is sometimes an option. Unless you are forced to use some legacy applications that don't handle Windows font scaling correctly.... and I am.
So, PLEASE, just make the fonts more configurable in the Teams application!

I don't see how this can be marked as partially done. While I can use windows + to magnify the chat window, It does not allow it to be functional AND see the magnification. When I am using the pop out chat on Teams on my laptop, I use a split screen. When I magnify, I can see just a small portion of the chat and cannot see the text entry point.

We have students who use Dolphin SuperNova as both magnification & screen reader, which is not compatible with Teams. The problem with using the ctrl button is that is can mess with settings with some other software like screen magnifiers. We need a way to make all font bigger automatically.
+1 on Mike Strobel's comment.
I was very excited about the pop-out chat window, but the font is minuscule. This is a serious accessibility flaw.

Leaving aside the fact that changing the zoom level is fundamentally different than changing the chat font size, the zoom level seems to only affect the main window. I cannot find any way to change the zoom level (or font size) in pop-out chat windows.
Very helpful. Thank you
It worked! thank you!
I was able to enlarge the words in Teams by first making it the active window and then holding the Control Key and the pressing the + key.

That is true, like Skype for Business, the font needs to be altered without the change in User Interface. This would be helpful change for lot of users.
Funny, that doesn't address the issue at all. What is needed is a way to set the user default font settings in Team. Zoom is a completely different issue. That doesn't help me a bit.
Adding my voice to the crowd. I need to change the font size so I can read the text. Zoom is not a solution. This is ridiculous.

When I clicked on that link it says I didn't have the correct admin access. This is ridiculous. Adding zoom is a horrible idea as others have mentioned. You're a massive tech company and you're saying no one can change the font size? Come on now....
It is such a small font , SMH
You're kidding? Zooming the page size is your solution? Come on, this is ridiculous. Just change the CSS.
is there any option to increase font size for all channels/users as admin

This is just simply weird not to have as our users needing accessibility options say that this is available in Skype4Business.
We have dylexic users or others with impairments that I frankly feel terrible providing this as a word-around to.
Zooming is not an acceptable workaround for not being able to make the font larger. The correct response for this issue is allowing the user to set font size at small, medium, large.
Hey @warren zooming is fine for some cases but it also distorts the UI completely. Including making the wasteful sidebar even more space consuming. Simply having a capability of setting a font size to small, medium (default) and large, would enable people using smaller screens to fit more content, while still helping readability on a secondary screen etc.

@Warren, When can we expect Font customization in Teams chat? Note Fonts are needed in my line of work for a number of reasons (ex. to convey code in mono space) -no changing it every chat is a terrible option.
