Hyperlink any text in chat
Allow any text to be selected and a hyperlink added to it, both using Ctrl+K (standard across Office applications) and by providing a hyperlink button in the expanded compose box.
You can now hyperlink any text.
To do so click on the “A” icon just under the compose box, this will expand the compose box.
From the expanded view, you can type the text you wish, select the text then click the chain icon at the top of the compose box.
This will allow you to add a hyperlink to the selected text. You may also enter the text into “text to display” field in this pop up box.
Thank you for the suggestions and keep that feedback coming!

This idea is great...especially with the increased use of sharepoint online and the extremely long links that may get added in group chat. Being able to hyperlink regular text will help us all keep the stream much more palatable.
I cannot create proper hyperlink for url with space in it - now it automatically creates hyperlink only from the first part of the URL up to the space character - which obviusly doesnt work. I dont have any option to correct this..
To further illustrate this idea, here's a video discussing it - https://youtu.be/b5FblftGfis
Angela. This hyperlink support breaks when you are sending a hyperlink from Teams to Skype, or vice versa. Worse still it renders the hyperlink in raw HTML form. Thus any non-techy person won't be clear on which bit is the url.
This is a must.
I'm having the same issue
it's working fine now, thanks team

Yes - this is a blocker for us to move from slack

Persistent link to threads (not necessarily within threads) is pretty critical to be able to "refer to" conversations we had in the past.

Slack has this and is a pretty key part to our users

Please add the ability to be able to add a hyperlink and copy it to someone on a team that will allow that person to go to a part of your chat or thread.
For example, I click on a link and it goes directly to a thread in Teams
when I post link like http://www.bing.com/ , it's not clickable
