Need read receipts
Mobile working, Asynchronous working of teams is a common phenomena. Read receipts let us know if the message has been seen, so we know it can be acted on. Critical when large numbers of the team are mainly mobile workers.
Read receipts are fully rolled out to the public ring.
You can find out more about the feature here –
Alex & the Teams team
It is working in Privat-Chats but we need it in Group-Chats to see if everybody got&saw the Infos there.

How is this feature still not implemented? The last update was November 1st, 2018, with the initial request being put in November 2016!
That's so long ago for what you would think is a very simple feature.
The official Microsoft Teams twitter also tweeted saying read receipts are being "added this month" in July of 2019, yet it's now mid-September with the feature still not working.
There's even a setting in the Teams admin panel that does NOTHING.
any progress on this feature?

really looking forward to this! That way you can rest assured the message was seen and it is not your responsibility anymore to chase the person
Feature is available in the Admin panel but no functionality still ! no change in desktop or mobile apps.
Any update on this?
Please add a fourth option in Teams Admin Center > "Messaging Policies" > "Read Receipts" to not have that enabled by default but can be turned on by the end user manually. By turning on this policy by default this would be an efficiency control of our users and we need an approval first.
But we are also waiting for this feature because a lot of users are asking for that. I can see that in my pre-version working already.
4-September-2019 and this features STILL doesn't work!? @Suphatra where can we see progress on this?

please add this. Its absence is stopping us adopting teams

Supposedly implemented by not functioning. This is one of the main reasons my staff still use Outlook to send internal memos, because they don't know if colleagues have read it when sent via Teams. Let's have an update please

Same here no functionality after turning it on
This feature is so much needed. one is not sure if the other person has already seen it. atleast it needs to be implemented in 1:1 to begin with. WebEx Teams does it so well and was very useful in my past job

Feature is enabled by default in Admin Centre, yet not functioning in the client or web. Is there an additional level of configuration required?

I have also had this feature enabled in my admin center but is not working on any of our desktop clients.

currently we can't see who is user in the group chat that already read our posted message.
also in personal chat, we can't see if the recipient has read our messages.
how to detect the read receipt status ,without limitation (example we have 100 group members in the Group chat, all of the users can be detected if reads the messages).
it is not enough if only have to response using Like button or emoticon response.
I see they tweeted this feature is available, but it is not functioning. I've tested on my iPhone. Has anyone successfully gotten this to work?
Really confusing to show the option in the admin center and not actually having the functionality ready for use... Hide the option in the admin center and show it only if turning it on or off actually turns it on or off !

Do we know something about this? We have it enabled for everyone but it makes no difference at all at the time.
Any news ?
This feature is preventing us from moving from other messaging/ collaboration services. Due to our organisation's dynamics this is an important feature to us both in 1:1 / groups chats and teams / channels.
When will this be available?
