Need read receipts
Mobile working, Asynchronous working of teams is a common phenomena. Read receipts let us know if the message has been seen, so we know it can be acted on. Critical when large numbers of the team are mainly mobile workers.

Read receipts are fully rolled out to the public ring.
You can find out more about the feature here –

Thanks,
Alex & the Teams team

Just like a read receipt on the chats I would like to know who has and hasn't read a post in a channel

How on earth is this marked as completed? Create a team, make posts on the channel, you still have no idea who on that team has read the post.
Given the whole product (at least as the name suggests) revolves around teams, why would you only implement this for private and group chats?

Divide read reciepts to control to two options
1. let people know when you've seen their messages,
2. know when they've seen yours. -

About "Read Receipt"
If the user keeps the screen open, you've read it.
Despite not checking the content, it is not desirable to be read.I want a function that will be read by clicking the button arbitrarily.

Are Read receipts being rolled out to Teams channels? So far I can only see this working in Group Chats so for me this item is not completed.

Hello, can we please also have the info about the moment when the recipient has read the message - displayed for example by hovering over the read icon? Thanks! David

You introduced read receipt and did not add the option to turn them off in the privacy settings.

Fantastic to see the new feature "Read Receipt".
Can you extend to the Conversations in Team Sites as well ? -

Why only for chats, but not for conversations?

We are many users not happy with this feature for several reasons (privacy, misunderstandings concerns mostly). How come you roll-out such a feature without possibility to disable it? It is insane.

Please allow it to be turned off as a user preference. The fascination in systems with being able to see when people read what you send (or, more importantly, that I have read what they sent me), is both annoying and a privacy concern. This feature became active in our system this morning and I already detest it immensely.

I second this! Just because I saw a client's message, doesn't mean I am in a position to help immediately, but it's going to damage our client relationships if they think we're ignoring them.

‘read receipt’ needed in Channels as well.

"read receipt" is needed for Channel messages to ensure everyone has seen the message.

Just because something flashes on my screen while I have the program open does not mean I've actually read it. The program cannot possibly know if I have.
I really hope that you are delaying the sending of the read receipt by like an hour or so to compensate for this already. It really is a terrible feature. This needs to act LESS like email or you arent solving a problem.

Released "read receipt" is only for group chat. Do you have any plan it for Channel message ?

It would be really great if you can give an option to turn on/off read receipts.

Read receipts have been added on the desktop apps finally!
No word on mobile apps but the updates may take a few days to get approved. :D
