E-discovery and Legal Holds need to be added for this to be used by orginizations that require all data to be able to be litigated.
This has been done for a while, I just forgot to update it — so sorry!

Any progression on this feature request?
We need this desperately, we can't use Skype for Business because it doesn't have the same notifications as Teams across multiple devices

I wanted to add that leveraging Exchange for this would be great for companies that already use it to hold emails via Exchange.
We use a 3rd party (Smarsh) for our compliance archive platform. We're also using Slack, which archives all messages and channels to Smarch for e-discovery. I'm hoping Teams will support the same capability.

This is a blocer for my org. I cannot deploy teams until there are retention policies, hold, and part of 365's discovery process. It would ne nice if I could do retention policies for all 365 products in one pane. I don't want to add a retention for email in Exchange then add a policy for teams in another screen and Skype in yet another.
In discussing business actions and issues in Microsoft teams, we are creating content that needs to be discoverable in the event that legal action (patent, personnel etc.) requires it. We need a simple way to run this discovery through teams in a similar way to outlook in order for us to use the platform.

Agreed, teams must be integrated fully into compliance center for ediscovery and hold purposes. Also we need to be able to apply data retention policies

Need to be able to disable the delete function, and have revision review function if a comment has been edited - or perhaps be able to disable edits,
