Notification for Planner Tasks
Planner and Teams just needs a notification - when a task has been created for an assigned user that user should receive a notification - currently we are doing a work around by starting a conversation with a mention of a member name
This is currently in internal testing rings at Microsoft, and the feature team is targeting a release to the public in early Q2.

Currently, it's not possible to get notifications on a task unless it's been assigned to you. Very often our group projects need multiple people to be aware of a task but they aren't actually doing the task themselves. For these people to receive notifications, we are obligated to assign a task to them. This creates a false sense of what is actually assigned to one person or another, making it easy to miss what is an actual action item.
Please make it possible:
a) for Channel members to be different from Team members
b) for Channel members to choose to follow specific buckets in a Planner regardless of whether they've been assigned a task
c) for people following a bucket to be able to make comments but not mark as complete
My team have had to switch off notifications altogether because we get email notifications even when a task has been marked as completed, including checklists. Please find a solution. thanks
ADMINISTRATOR Notifications Management Settings for Tasks, Comments, Status, etc. My Teams are getting now ignoring all Teams notifications because I cannot manage them by Team. Most of my Team only want the people assigned to the Task to receive notifications. Currently the ENTIRE Team receives notifications, updates & worse of all COMMENTS. We should be able to manage these settings at the ADMINISTATOR level not the user level. Please update soon as Microsoft is training all Teams users to ignore Teams notifications as the vast majority of them do not apply.
Does the Planner bot even exist anymore? Its SUPER confusing if it doesn't. And if it does, well, I simply do not have the ability to access this. How do I get notifications in Planner? It can't/shouldn't be this hard.
Notifications for assigned tasks are one of the most useful and important expected features of the Planner app. Seems like a huge miss that MS didn't include this feature with deployment of the GCC-High tenant.

+1 for Teams notifications about comments left on tasks that I'm assigned on. Having to rely on email notifications seems to defeat the purpose of Teams.
So many typical requests below that should already work.
Is Teams is a legit fully completed platform or is it in BETA.

Need to have more extensive Teams notifications options for Planner tasks. Notifications should only be sent to those assigned to a task and not the entire Team/Group.

You can get a Teams notification when a Planner task is assigned to you by another person if your team has Planner installed and your plan has a tab in Teams. To turn on the Planner assignment notifications in Teams: In Planner for web, select Settings, and then under Planner, select Notifications.
Hello Miss Admin, Today we actually do have Teams based Planner Task notification in Teams and Outlook. Is this Live and just needs to be marked as completed or is there more notification greatest coming for this?
Have there been any updated to this? We are used to the Trello functionality, where any @[User] messaged send a notification to that user. We would settle for ANY notifications to people assigned to the task when a comment is made.
In my team we currently use Planner to manage newhire onboardings, we have a parent task for each newhire, with many subtasks assigned to multiple members of the team. The problem is whenever someone finish the task and tick his/her respective tasks, this action is not logged nor any notification is triggered, so in a busy team, no one else will know what's the status until he/she personally checks the subtasks.

Any progress so far?
Currently our work-around is to also add the person which only needs the "completed" or "everdue-notification" as owner of the Task which spams the number of open tasks for team-leaders.
This Feature is badly needed.
