Show video for all people in Video meeting
Currently when in a video chat it only shows the active video for the last 4 people that have spoken in the chat. On the bottom bar it shows icons for all those in the chat. If it could show small video for all those in the chat that have their cameras turned on it would be beneficial. Then everyone on the video conference can see the reactions of others, whether they were the last to speak or not.
This is a problem with most video chatting applications. Google Hangouts it the only one we have found that shows video of all the participants on the screen.

We are excited to announce large gallery view (7×7 videos) and Together mode are available to the public for desktop & mobile.
Large Gallery is an optional feature and can be turned on at any time during the meeting. The new large gallery has a flexible design and will deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories.

Showing of video of all Participant should be available as an option where user can enable it any time should not be restricted to only education.
We should have a option where to highlight one speaker instead of four people occupying space in video. This will help in physically demonstrating to participant.
Basically it will create an environment of conference instead of meeting. We need both options meeting and conference.

we desperately need this capability on MTR's aswell as the desktop client.
currently even on a large 86inch+ screen I can only see 4 participants. this needs to be moved inline with the desktop client and increased to 7x7.

Wow!
Thank you so much! Thanks for option to turn off as well! Kudos to the Microsoft Family!!!I understand the protocols of security and I will wait patiently for these new features. I would rather have a secure site then opt for one with features but NO adequate security, which would cause us consumers Data breaches. No to mention Teams and Microsoft endless litigation due to breaches. I hear Zoom a lot but if you stay ahead of security issues, you are less likely to come from behind a devastating one. I understand it takes time to ensure security protocols and other measures are effective before rollout! Thank you to the Microsoft IT Department and all concerned for doing the utmost to ensure an effective and safe delivery of this new feature.
I do not work for Microsoft Teams or any of its affiliates but I understand the protocols.
Stay safe, wear your mask and continue to Social Distance, but I see daily how that safety protocol is being followed..
Cheers! -

I'm using Teams for teaching, so even if I could select who I see in the 9 panels, that would be a start. That way I could change who I'm seeing at various times during a lesson so that I could work on engaging more students.

first teams meeting since 3 months of zoom...... it is archaic...... if zoom can sort out their securiy and IG issues it'll kill teams.....

Like many other users I have been struggling to find out how to switch to gallery view in Teams. The question has been asked countless times on forums and the replies from "experts" completely miss the point. Instead they waffle on about expanding from 4 to 9 yada yada. There is no menu / settings item that enables you to toggle between gallery view and speaker view. Microsoft seem to have decided to keep it a secret. But I think I may have just discovered that you just need to double click on the speaker. I will try it the next time I'm in a Teams meeting. And if it works I will wonder why it needs to be such a secret.

we would love to be able to drag the "small participant videos ribbon from the bottom of the screen to the Top of the screen, "Under the Camera" (choose to pin it at the side, top or bottom..
So it looks like were talking to the participants while reading their faces.
(when sharing a screen)

@alex, the roadmap item you have referenced links to an article posted in "Teams Education" ...will 7x7 Large Gallery be available in the non-Education version of Teams?

Don't forget to add that support to Linux too!

Will this be introduced in the web app version? In my organisation we have a lot of external clients who don't have the necessary license to use the desktop version.

Much needed, so good to hear. Would also like to know if this will work on Teams Room Systems which are still stuck on 2x2!
