Show video for all people in Video meeting
Currently when in a video chat it only shows the active video for the last 4 people that have spoken in the chat. On the bottom bar it shows icons for all those in the chat. If it could show small video for all those in the chat that have their cameras turned on it would be beneficial. Then everyone on the video conference can see the reactions of others, whether they were the last to speak or not.
This is a problem with most video chatting applications. Google Hangouts it the only one we have found that shows video of all the participants on the screen.
I’m excited to announce that a new Large Gallery view, with the ability to see up to 49 participant in a meeting, is coming soon to Teams! Large Gallery will release as an optional (preview) feature that can be turned on at any time during a meeting. Large Gallery has a flexible design and will deliver a network-optimized client video experience that works on multiple device categories. During the preview, the Large Gallery experience will be available for desktop Teams client on both Windows & Mac, as well as for mobile Teams client (iOS, Android) users.
Large Gallery will begin rolling out with the new pop-out meetings experience for desktop clients in early July, and we are targeting full availability including mobile clients for iOS and Android by early September.

Will it be possible to have the same on the web client too ?

You guys are missing the boat somewhat. The draw to Zoom is in the ability to see ALL attendees as well as to be able to switch to gallery view OR presenter view - not to mention the ability to share a link without the attendee being required to download anything.
I hope that's all included in the upcoming updates because it seems Skype/ now Zoom has fallen behind and should have been the front-runners in these kinds of features to begin with.
Thanks for the improvements along the way though!!

@Natasha Ayala - it happens automatically, the display auto changes to 3x3 when enough people join the meeting via video. Works v well.

Great news. Would love to see Gallary view as an option via people who join via Web Browser. We are currently issuing Zoom licenses like crazy to staff because customers are having difficulty with Teams features via the web. Also Safari support would be great for all those MAC users.
Having the expanded number of participant windows is terrific. Could it be considered floating the bar of participant windows "above" any presentation being shared? Doing so helps the speaker's eyes look at the camera on top of their laptop or PC screen instead of looking down at the tray below the presentation when you are trying to have "eye contact"? Also, could there be a consideration for a countdown clock tracking toward the end of the meeting to help participants remain alert to the time available in the meeting. Thank you for the user collaboration!!

so far my experience with 3x3 has been phenomenal. Working as expected and the meeting links in email invites are nicely displayed too. Zoom's meeting invite is like a CVS receipt.

I'm currently using Windows and I still don't see 3x3 video. Is this a setting? How do I enable this option?
Thanks for the update, but I would like to second all the voices reporting the performance issue that is faced lately because of the 3x3 roll-out.
7x7 is a step forward that we are looking forward to have.
Are you kidding me? get 3x3 working correctly first. It works half assed at best. We are getting killed by people switching to Zoom.......

Thank you for increasing to 7x7!
any updates for mobile devices? 3x3 for ipads?

Can you, please, make sure it does not use up all the CPU. Here is my CPU usage on MacBook Air 2018 with just 3 total participants (including myself) all with video cameras on (no screen sharing). This can't be an acceptable resource consumption. The machine becomes unusable during the meeting

Is there any plan to make it perform better before adding 7x7? the performance of teams video chats is garbage after adding 3x3.
Nice! It is great to see Teams progress quite rapidly!
good for this improvement, but still the 3x3 meetings are still recording in 2x2!
What about Microsoft Teams Rooms?
This is great progress, however preference would be that MS work on pop out meetings first so I can watch the presentation or whatever else is in the meeting and move to another screen like I can do with the pop out chats, but continue to use one of the other multiple features of my Teams app.
And then id still prefer a notification in the pop out window taskbar icon rather than in the Teams Client to let me know someone sent a message and which one, and then grouping pop out chats into one window over 7x7 video.

Thank you for the 7x7 - and for not just tricklying out ... now 4x4, now 5x5, ...
3x3 has been an improvement, and I think 7x7 will be as much as I'll need / want. My screen is big, but at some point, I just don't want to see that many faces.... ;)
