Show video for all people in Video meeting
Currently when in a video chat it only shows the active video for the last 4 people that have spoken in the chat. On the bottom bar it shows icons for all those in the chat. If it could show small video for all those in the chat that have their cameras turned on it would be beneficial. Then everyone on the video conference can see the reactions of others, whether they were the last to speak or not.
This is a problem with most video chatting applications. Google Hangouts it the only one we have found that shows video of all the participants on the screen.
In addition to being available on Windows & Mac, we have released iOS 2×4 (mobile) and 3×3 (iPad), along with Large Gallery and Together Mode. You will see these options with the latest version from the app store. We are targeting availability for Android clients (mobile and tablet) this quarter as well.
You can read more about Large gallery view, Together mode, as well as other new meetings experiences here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/new-meeting-and-calling-experience-in-microsoft-teams/ba-p/1537581

In the linked blog entry, it states "The new meeting and calling experience is available for the Teams desktop client on both Windows and Mac. It’s not available for Teams on the web." No mention of Linux at all. What's going on, Microsoft?
where are you finding Version 1.3.00.19173? I have Version 1.3.00.15561 and the teams client says it's the latest. if I go to the MS website and download it gives me Version 1.3.00.15561

Version 1.3.00.19173 installed but I am not seeing the option to “Turn on new meeting experience"
Does some sort of preview feature have to be enabled by the admin?
I like the separate window when I have multiple monitors, but I liked to see meeting inside Teams client when I have only one desktop and need to look to somewhere in Teams.
This would be very nice to have in the Office365 Teams platform, as well. Any idea if that is coming?
I downloaded but it is version 1.3.00.15561 - when will the new version be available for Mac??

🙄 Not great news until the Linux client is updated too.
Waste of resources. Most people don't care. How about allowing non-teams people to call in instead. Communication, not vanity is the purpose.
When will these features be coming to the Teams application on a Mac OSX Desktop please? I have the latest version but it appears there hasn't been an update since version 1.3.00.15561 on 3 July 2020.
Thanks for the update, @673546846-alex.
Unfortunately, I don't have the option to "Turn on new meeting experience" as mentioned in the techcommunity blog post you linked to.
How do I know which desktop Teams client version I'm running on Windows so I can check whether I'm running version 19173 or later?
The Teams.exe in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams\current shows file version 1.3.00.15561 (same as selecting About > Version in the app). When I check for updates in the app, it says "You've got the latest updates. Enjoy!" ... this is the version you get when you download today from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app.
Most of the DLL files in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Teams\current show file version 10.0.18362.1 (and my fully updated Windows 10 version 1909 shows build 18363.959).
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-client-update doesn't mention anything about versions but does explain the app follows a two-week update cycle.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/what-s-new-in-microsoft-teams-d7092a6d-c896-424c-b362-a472d5f105de shows dates but no versions (nor does it mention 7x7 large gallery view).
The associated roadmap item https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=65333 links to https://educationblog.microsoft.com/en-us/2020/06/20-updates-for-microsoft-teams-for-education-including-7x7-video-and-breakout-rooms/ but doesn't explain the version requirement.
EDIT: as per useful comment from https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/new-meeting-and-calling-experience-in-microsoft-teams/bc-p/1540555/highlight/true#M6208 I downloaded and installed version 1.3.00.19565 (it seems the final set of digits is the version number) but don't have the option to "Turn on new meeting experience".

"GREAT NEWS! " !?!?! why not for Linux.
Why nothing for Linux? Still on 2x2, no background blur, no hands up.
Michel van Wees commented
I still don't have the option to Turn on new meeting experience in my Teams client for Windows. The version of my client is 1.3.00.15561.
Matthew Norman commented
But when will we get more than 4 video streams (2x2) on iPad / iOS ?
Knut Erik Hollund commented
Please make the large gallery view a reality for users using the web version of teams. Yes - there are some of us ... e.g. using only a chromebook for all our workflows.
Linux is still in 16851. Start of class is coming near by September and this feature is needed at most. I hope you also update the Linux version of Teams.
I've got the latest client version x64 but no option to enable the new meeting experience :(
Fausto Marasco commented
Any progress on the linux client...?
I have version 1.3.00.15561 - updated 7/13/20 (manually). I did not have the option for new Teams Meeting Experience on 7/13 when I downloaded the update. I checked today, and I do have the option today! Can hardly wait for the next BIG meeting tomorrow to try this out !
