Backup, export, printing, archive options
Can Teams chat and activities data be exported, printed, archived, and backed up/restored? Within Sharepoint or elsewhere? This could be necessary for a few reasons both during projects and for historical records.
This item is still under review. No new updates at this time.
This is the one thing that is stopping our department from using this.

As with attached files in Chat the chat itself could be saved to the same folder in each participants Onedrive
This should be limited since corporate information is not always allowed to be individually exportable by users. If this is administrative, it is fine but please don’t default allow for the average user
I'm afraid this basic func is needed. Data (as in information) must be exportable. My company uses Teams, but I will fight back as long as I cannot use my data mining sw to search valid data from the very very long (hundreds of msgs) conversations.
You generate a thread of 100s of msgs and demo the world how to fluidly traverse all the msgs. Will be humbling.
This functionality would be very helpful for tracking conversations and documenting decisions that happen on Teams.
This is just a core function of the system and just crazy that you cant download the team chat to use/show in other forms! Please fix yesterday!
Please prioritize this...

Would make it so much more valuable.

Please prioritize this enhancement request to export conversation history. This is a critical feature as we have added significant information to channel conversations that we need to export and leverage for internal training/documentation.
Important feature to be added asap
Export or Save Chat logs, whether informal one-on-one or group chats, or chat logs for team's. There are many reasons why this is a vital feature...from archiving transcript of a project planning session to mandatory legal retention of data. Skype made this easy with its integration with Outlook.
In my context, .. a company with 700 employees, Teams is up against Atlassian tools, which provide blog, chat, versioning and more.
Atlassian already has built in tools for export to Word, pdf etc.
This should really be done ASAP.
We already have Atlassian licenses, .. people like Teams, but if I am stuck having to have all my develompment information dependent on an external partners messaging, then as Head of Engineerin there, I will make a call for Atlassian, and ditch Teams for the technical stuff, which we MUST for legal reasons be able to archive and access in a form which can be presented in a file, or in print.
Why has this been in review for so long ?.
Just take a look at Atlassian Confluence as a demo.

Having no option to print or export tasks sorted by due date from a team calendar is actually a dealbreaker! Did you manage to implement such a feature of do we have to look for a third party option?
Outlook .pst format would perfect, since email format recognized as official conversation from legal point of view.

It would be better to be able to view (mount) exported data in Teams like Outlook PST.
It would help a lot to decrease the number of e-mails and documents turning over in a department
It is ridiculous that this is not possible. It is such a fundamental function. At least let us copy-and-paste!
To export conversations would be extremely necessary as we need to document and have accessible historical data for potential audits or inspections.

This is super important for us because we store chats related to past incidents.
export functionality would really help in Teams
