Backup, export, printing, archive options
Can Teams chat and activities data be exported, printed, archived, and backed up/restored? Within Sharepoint or elsewhere? This could be necessary for a few reasons both during projects and for historical records.
This item is still under review. No new updates at this time.
This seems like an obvious feature. This is a business platform and many businesses require documentation of conversations and work flows. Get it done.
Not having full audit/archive/backup on Teams is the reason why I will be loosing access next week. I work in financial markets and we require all conversations to be "recorded". I can't believe this is not available.

Here is the new software that lack basic features and you have to vote for them. How foolish is that?
It will be good to export the full conversation or a period of conversation and store it for future reference.
It can also be used as evidence of group discussion.

Being able to archive teams conversations is crucial for full integration. We use Dynamics/CRM and not being able to archive conversations to a file on Dynamics is what is holding us back from moving away from Skpye for business and using Teams.

Print to PDF would suffice to ?

My company is a medical device company and we are being pushed by the IT team to use TEAMS instead of email and other IMs. As manager of the quality dept, I am reluctant to use TEAMs because I want to keep all emails, files, photos, conversations in a single folder on our network sorted by issue/topic. This would include many many emails, files, photos originating and being sent to us from outside the company and TEAMs does not work well for these coming in from outside the company (yes I am aware that links can be sent to the outside sources) An example of those issues/topics are customer issues, FDA issues, supplier issues, ISO/Audit findings, employee issues, etc, etc. Those sorted network "folders" make it much much easier and faster for my team to find all similar issues/topics during an ISO audit. This is much more difficult with TEAMS because it gets lost in the huge pile of other TEAMs and conversations AND somehow i have to merge those with data originating from outside the company. An easy solution is to allow a download of the entire conversation string with all the file "attachments". I can then move that download to the correct issue/topic.
The download feature is critical to our support for the use of TEAMs at my company.
exporting conversation is very important feature

Does anyone know the latest on this subject?
MS - It really does not make sense not to allow users (or at least admins) export information they need in a nice readable format

This is a really simple functionality requirement which is required by many organisations.
I fully support this! I have been trying to figure this out for a long time but to no avail. It is so important for the context that I work in.
What is the status?
I need to export Teams chats. Copy and paste does not work.
My only option right now is screen captures of the conversation. This is terrible.

how can a feature that's available on other platforms not be present on this one? in Skype I was able to save messages. Skype is gone, this is the replacement, this should do what skype did but better...

Hi this is not being updated for over a year, I am stressing if we use this for projects, we need to backup for audit purposes, or atleast to move to another tenant..

Microsoft: WE REALLY NEED THIS. Export to ePub or PDF would be great. As people have said, if a Teams space is to support a project, a team, or a class in an educational setting, there needs to be a way to do housekeeping other than losing everything that happened. We need at least a reference copy of the discussion thread. It's not even possible to copy and paste multiple threads on the current interface. Given all of Microsoft's clever format conversion and export tools this must surely be possible.

The ability to export (or even copy & paste) a conversation is very important to us, as we utilise teams for our onsite engineers to provide escalation support & knowledge base information to them. These conversations need to be copied into the support ticket in our onsite ticketing system. At the moment we are having to copy the link to the conversation and embed that in the ticket. This is ok, but means that to follow the flow of a longer ticket we have to go to multiple places. Also if the conversation is deleted, then we lose the usefulness of the link.
The feature can deeply helping multi-product mix in Teams. And I really need this feature to help project management.
