Developer API to read/create teams and channels in them.
Slack has dev api to list teams/channels and perform bunch of management operations. It would be great if there's something similar available in Microsoft Teams as well.
This was released in August 2019. You can find documentation here:

A must have thing. Definitely.
Critical for our migration project.
Please share ETA or how to beta test this

Any chance you can share some info on this, what is planned and ETA?
Is there any update on the Team API ? Any dates ?

100% agree. This is almost a dealbreaker in our org.

How about some powershell cmdlets for this product?

That's great news! Looking forward to testing this

+1 this is a MUST HAVE to ensure Teams/Channels are organized according to minimal predefined enterprise taxonomy / site topologies. Lack of such an API might prove a blocker to deploy Teams within our organization

We need the ability to create Teams and Channels through an API too.
Not having an API to create channels and post messages into these channels is keeping us from using TEAMS as we had hoped. Is there a future update planned for this?
Bas de Wit commented
We really need this to support our customers. At this moment we are automatically creating team sites (and groups) for entities in a ERP or CRM application (f.e. projects). We really want to give our customers the ability to extend this to teams!

+1 We also are planing to use teams for main communication app. Our product needs to create channels and write messages into it. Alternative for now is SfB, that is not great.

+1. We like teams and are considering making it a central part of our communication platform, but we need to be able to programatically create channels.
