More status options, custom status, and Out of Office
I like the status options in S4B, and so does my boss. It will be important to my boss before accepting the use of MS Teams widely to have a broader range of statuses. Missing statuses are:
* In a meeting
* In a conference call
* In a call
* Be right back
* Off Work
Particularly of importance are "Be right back" and "off work". "Do not disturb" is probably sufficient for "in a meeting", "in a call" and "presenting". But, it sure is nice that S4B auto-detects those three statuses (for the most part).
Would like to create a custom status option, such as an out-of-office message.
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to share that this ask has been completed. To see the list of presence statuses that are currently available, please visit https://docs.microsoft.com//MicrosoftTeams/presence-admins

How can this be on backlog? This is simply a vital part of any modern chat platform. Custom status messages must be a feature.

This is much needed. Especially when using Teams Voice with queues. Only way for people to easily opt out of their teams ringing when the queues ring is to set their status as some form of 'away' which is confusing in a normal operational context. Would be good to add an 'Available but not available for calls' status message.
In an on going pademic with phased worked from home and phased work from office and we can't get at least a Green WFH icon status.
Change out the single white check mark with a either a House icon in green or "WFH" icon in green
In context of Covid19 and Work from home policies,
Can we also add two new statuses like "On Lunch Break" and "On Tea Break".
I have set up lunch time in outllook insight and during my lunch time, my status is Busy.
It should appear as a 'Lunch' status and the status message should mention automatically my lunch time

Need to prevent different groups from seeing my online status. I'm bombarded by chat messages asking for help from throughout the company which prevents me from doing my day job.
We have an established way to ask for help but each user thinks their 'ok, it's a simple request' direct message me prevents me from doing my job.
I need an out of office auto-reply message feature in Teams

It would be awesome if whatever 3rd party apps you add to your Teams could also communicate your status. For example, if I'm on a Zoom call, and I have Zoom connected to Teams, it could automatically mark me as "in a call" or "busy."

Need the ability to add a custom status.
Older tools do this, as well as newer tools.
It would also be helpful to have an "at lunch" status option with the ability to set a time to switch that status automatically back to the default "available" status

A difference between "Busy" (according to Outlook) and "In a (Teams) Call" would be really useful. Even when someone is using the Teams app to make the call, the system does not recognise the correct status.
Also, if someone is in a scheduled Teams call (say 30 mins) and joins but then leaves and the call ends, why not return their status to Available. The system knows what was scheduled, knows that they joined it, and knows that the event has now finished for all participants.
A proper Out-Of-Office notification would be cool if mentioned in a team or DM!
I would love to be able to script* this client-side, based on current IP.
I.e. when in the office, office IP -> script to set custom status message "In the Office", option "Show" active and clear after 1 hour.
When not in the office, other IP -> nothing happens.
*script preferably bash, as we are on Mac, but let's not forget about Win either
Let us know if that feature will be released please! That would be great!
With all the COVID related impacts, having a new additional status and color e.g. Purple of "Working from home" would be significantly useful.

This is an issue in our enterprise-wide environment. We have many request indicating that a "click-to-select" status is much more preferable than the user selecting one of the existing statuses ~ then adding a comment..., /thks JD
Yep, should be incorporated soon.Pls make it possible to create a custom status company wide.
It would be really great if you could put attention on this after 4 years after being brought up.
This is a basic staple for every other IM/VoIP tool..
MS Teams should give the flexibility to create a custom status apart from the defined status which is integrated with other MS Tools.
Like we have the feasibility to add our custom status ( maybe a couple) so as to extend visibility on ones availability.
StatusMessage is visible only when someone contacts you individually, but if you are in any of the groups.
It would be nice to have an "Invisible" status. Where people can individually decide to not show their status online… this is very relevant if the org want to open the presence world wild and some users want's to keep it private.
