More status options, custom status, and Out of Office
I like the status options in S4B, and so does my boss. It will be important to my boss before accepting the use of MS Teams widely to have a broader range of statuses. Missing statuses are:
* In a meeting
* In a conference call
* In a call
* Be right back
* Off Work
Particularly of importance are "Be right back" and "off work". "Do not disturb" is probably sufficient for "in a meeting", "in a call" and "presenting". But, it sure is nice that S4B auto-detects those three statuses (for the most part).
Would like to create a custom status option, such as an out-of-office message.
Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to share that this ask has been completed. To see the list of presence statuses that are currently available, please visit https://docs.microsoft.com//MicrosoftTeams/presence-admins

I like the idea and agree with it, but if implemented, I would like to see it integrated with other MS services that have presence/status. Agree on one universal set of options that can be used for all of these services.

Auto-away on desktop should be enabled if more than x minutes of iddle time (same behaviour as Skype)
A separate setting should enable a user to set a certain status during certain hours. For example on my mobile I should be able to say set my status to DND between 10pm and 7am
The own online status should be fully controlable.
i.e. At the moment you set yourself as 'not available' and after the next windows logon you are automatically set to available.
So the status should be fixable.
BTW: The status is not always correctly synced to other team members (you are online and others see you as absent).
Custom statuses would be wonderful.
I like this. Twist app from doit has this feature.
A description of what their away status/holiday mode offers:
Twist lets you disconnect and fully recharge so you can come back fresh.
When you turn on the away status, you won’t be getting any notifications or emails. Your teammates will be able to easily see that you are away and when you’ll return.
It would be great if we can see in Teams that somebody is on holiday/vacation/trip. Two scenarios:
1. Integration with Exchange Out of the Office (OoO) information - one or two directional
2. Possibility to mark OoO information in Teams.
Could be connected with user presence in Teams, which is lack too.
Custom messages like in Skype would be great. example: in a meeting, out at lunch. Just need a text box to fill in status.
can we get an "invisible" status, pretty please?
When I'm on a WebEx and sharing my screen, I set my status as "do not disturb" so that viewers can't see my notifications/messages, yet they still pop up. That's not okay!!
You could also optionally automatically pull this from their Outlook calendar.

@R Cheld, oh, yeah, I meant the custom message also.

Custom messages please! This is what I need for 100% buy-in for my company to get off of S4B.

What about the sentence we could add above the status in SfB?

it would be nice if i could input my own status apart from the choosing one of the presets from the drop down list. i.e. in my company - as we are working in multiple physical locations and people are moving from one office to the other during the day (and we are talking about 10 locations within the radius of 50 km) people use the status field to put an information where they can be found in person - in our case (about 500 ppl) this is quite useful.
Be able to lock as available. or make the time longer before away is turned on.
Please give us the option to say why we are away
Away - At Lunch
Away - Break
Busy - Gone for Day

Include invisible or offline status for privacy
Also custom status messages would be nice
If it's after a certain time of day or I'm on Do Not Disturb, hide all notifications until Do Not Disturb ends.
Also support having important notifications which can break through Do Not Disturb.
Receiving notifications all the time interferes with productivity and sanity.
