More status options, custom status, and Out of Office
I like the status options in S4B, and so does my boss. It will be important to my boss before accepting the use of MS Teams widely to have a broader range of statuses. Missing statuses are:
* In a meeting
* In a conference call
* In a call
* Be right back
* Off Work
Particularly of importance are "Be right back" and "off work". "Do not disturb" is probably sufficient for "in a meeting", "in a call" and "presenting". But, it sure is nice that S4B auto-detects those three statuses (for the most part).
Would like to create a custom status option, such as an out-of-office message.
This request is still queued within our backlog. No new details yet.
WHY is this on the backlog? It's basic functionality in Skype for Business. No one in our company knows what's going on anymore, and half the time the status is inaccurate and shows someone as active when they aren't!
How is ms teams and s4b so far behind other collaboration tools for basic features like custome stays messages. Slack is vastly better for communication
+1 for Custom Status! #customstatus
just need a blanck bar to type in a costum status.

We need custom statuses as well. We are replacing S4B with Teams, and we rely on the custom status field for all sorts of information. Don't overthink it, just give us a blank field to type in.

Hoping that 'more options' includes this: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34755928-separate-out-of-office-status-from-presence-like
we would like to be able to add custom messages as well like the status = green ( in office) but we can add a tag line like working remote.
or status= away and we can add tag line like on vacation until 1-20-2099

Needs a "Working from Home" status for partially remote teams
wow, this seems to be rocket science. a custom status. or to make it more simple just like the TO suggested: add more static ones. I can't believe that simple things like that are still not available....

Although the "Same Presence as Skype for Business" item is "Completed" there has been no change to the functionality that I can see. Does anyone see a difference?
And why would that one be completed while this one is open? They are effectively saying the same thing.

Q1 is now come to an end. Several of the features reports like this one are still out. When can we expect some of this?

The only thing I miss from S4B is that automatically updated my status whether I was in the office or working remote

I surely hope it includes these two features:
1. Short Description: used to communicate status in an short/easy to consume manner
2. Emoji: provides visual indicators to users attempting to contact you (example: I use an airplane to indicate that I'm traveling).
Also a short text field where I can type in a descriptive status would be handy. Lacking this is making transition from Slack hard.

Thanks for the update Warren. Not to be that guy, but do you have any updates since we're a week into Q2? My higher ups consider this an essential feature for them to go all-in on Teams over S4B.
"Traveling - Chat Only" - meaning you can text me - but not voice or video.

Also fully custom status options missing. E.g. "remote work, ETA xx:yy"

I completely agree - I'm a remote employee and that status shows my boss a lot more than I'm online. That alone will keep me using Jabber. I'm sad to see this was suggested in October of 2017 and hasn't been changed.

Both of these features would be extremely useful at my company
