Teams Meeting in Outlook
It would be nice to be able to create a Teams meeting directly in Outlook similar to what Skype for Business does now.
This is done! Read all about it on our blog: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams-Blog/Now-available-Outlook-add-in-to-schedule-meetings-in-Microsoft/ba-p/71157
If you have any problems with this feature, email me directly at sparavi @ Microsoft.com.

Definitely a must have

I definitely think we should be able to set up a meeting request in Outlook and add a Teams Meeting to the request from Outlook. Setting it up in Teams isn't convenient.

I see below that you say this works now. How does it work. I want to be able to create a meeting in outlook and then in the message have the link for a teams meeting. The reason why is because you cannot assign resources like meeting rooms in teams, but you can in outlook.
This works now. But I was not able to change the meeting from the Teams or Outlook mobile app. I wasn't with my laptop and had to cancel the meeting and create a new one in Outlook - frustrating amount of copy and paste!

Absolutely! It makes no sense to have them be separate calendars.
