How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Integration for Microsoft Project

Enable integration with Microsoft Project to see a project timeline, work breakdown, schedule, and dependencies. Additionally, teams could provide notifications to members about dates in the project.

Incredibly frustrating given synergies between project and teams that this integration is not already available.

I was surprised to learn this was not already supported. Planner is, but how can Teams be the dashboard of internal communication without project management?

A lot of other tools (e.g. smartsheets, wrike, Zoho, etc) have already done this. Two years later the fact that MS tools aren't integrated on this front is a bit shameful. +1 to the 'no brainer' comment

We are currently using Wrike solely because it integrates into Teams. We would prefer to use MS Project and keep everything "better together". Until that happens, Wrike will be getting our money. Shame. You would think this would have a been a no brainer.

At a starting point it should be possible to open an MS Project Plan (.mpp) dirctly from MS Teams.
Actually in Teams there is no direct option on the Menu "Open ins Project"
User has to go to the SharePoint site and open the file from there. On SharePoint there the user can find the option "Open in Project"

If the user actually opens the MS Project Plan from Teams it is not possible to save it back directly. The user has to save it first on the desk top and then move t back to Teams.

Warren, is there a roadmap that would show what the plan is or is that out of bounds to ask? We've got a small group of internal employees and external partners (about 8 teams - consisting of 20-25 individuals) who are using teams. Without Projects integration this is dead at this point … can't convince executives of value; Every team has tasks, milestones, goals, etc. that need to be tracked … including their time on task/project/team for budgeting. The competing software is Primavera P6 (FYI) and it not only handles this … but our PE and PM's love it. Please give us something ...

This would be key to fulling using Teams for our projects. There's been a lot of progress with Teams and this would be the final touch for me!

On the October 1st I renewed our Enterprise Agreement with MS. It included a modest number of Project Online Premium, Professional and Essential subscriptions. If MS wants me to motivate the increase of these subscriptions by 20-fold, then MS should prioritize this feature. Add things currently stand, the Project Online mobile interface is pretty archaic.

Would love to see Microsoft pull through with this fix. Hitting a bit of a roadblock...
