How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Include an optional Project Timeline(s) for Channels

Include a project timeline for channels, that includes milestones, tasks subtasks - the whole nine. Whoever is admin/assigned project manager should be able to assign tasks etc with reminders that sync to calendars (outlook etc) so that those people get automatic pop-ups and reminders about items coming due - and everyone can see the progress/assignees. When completed files/pieces of the project are complete, the upload button should include an option to choose a task from the timeline to check as complete, and the timeline updates - who completed, date, and the file. Milestones will update as "reached" or complete when all tasks and related subtasks are complete. Also - conversations should be possible to identify in the same way with hierarchies: Project, Milestone, Task, Subtask etc -archiving as appropriate when sections are complete.

I can envisage a Timeline tab in General channel that would show a horizontal scrollable timeline with longer timespan ranges than Outlook calendar (day/week/month), so this could show maybe month (all in a row horizontal layout, not in the typical calendar format) / Quarter / “Year to year” / “Year to 3 years / “Entire project duration”. This tab could help to easily set simple big project milestones ‘project creation, team creation, phases x, w, z, final goal planned, etc. different layers/streams could be shown separately (by channel, by type of event?) and then to have only a reflection on Outlook calendar. This would be an easy and compelling tool to communicate to higher management levels.

The timeline should display a simple overview of what members have done and when (Traceability). Clicking on an item in the timeline should link to the task, item, chat, file, etc..

Would like to have a full functioning calendar for each team/channel including the ability to see tasks due dates set up in Microsoft planner in a calendar or timeline format. Also would like the ability to make meeting invitations using outlook meetings instead of team meetings to allow outsiders to participate without having to be added as a team member.

I'm looking at some other options, one called Teamwork in particular that includes a visual timeline of your tasks. I'm not sure if you have this anywhere but it would be nice not to have to use yet another application for just this one thing.

We sometimes use "microsoft timeline" to accomplish the milestone issue. It's a free add-in to powerpoint (a bit unstable though if you keep the adobe add-in active in powerpoint) and is more full featured if you pay for the premium version. We then pin this to the top of a channel or general tab.

May involve a Planner integration, but it would be great to have a single calendar/timeline view of all milestones and project timelines across all teams, which can be filtered by Team and/or channel.

I suggest this be enhanced within planner, and thus available to a team via tab inclusion.
