Rich thumbnails for files
Can we get rich thumbnails for files the same way SharePoint document libraries now show? Pictures would show a preview and Office documents can show small thumbnails too

This feature request has been accepted by the feature team and is now on the backlog.
Thank you for all the feedback.

Please please please. We send tons of screenshots and it's impossible to find anythign we sent in the files section. The skype "gallery" feel would be a great option in addition to tiles.

Hello guys! When is this feature due? I long to keep our picture library in Teams, together with all our other files... Do you have a date?

Supremely annoying having to click one image at a time. Presently on the backlog for a year and a half...*sigh*

At my company we have no choice but stop using Microsoft Teams because of this issue. Currently Teams is very inefficient because of clicking through images.

I can't believe that photos are not available as thumbnails as standard? I'm trying to promote the use of Teams throughout my workplace, the lack of thumbnails is seriously hampering this...

This seems to be a bit of key functionality missing. Any update as to when this will be in progress? Microsoft, you cannot keep expecting people to flick between Teams and SharePoint if the sole purpose of Teams is to be the central app for people to work.

Seriously, when is this coming. It's antiquated not to be able to view photos

Teams needs compact list or tile (with thumbnail) view. If a folder contains just images, the option to scroll (left / right cursor key) through them would also be very useful.
Also need basic image editing in Teams.

A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it comes to file names. It is a shame Microsoft Teams can't provide users a preview of their own folder picture files.
Warren, glad it's now on Microsoft's a backlog of to-dos, here it is almost a year later with no promise date in sight. Can't even paste an example snip into this thread to emphasize dire need of this feature.
Come on Microsoft pick-up your game. Do you want us to return to SharePoint just to get our thumbnails back? I apologize if I've offended anyone with my expression of frustration with Teams.

would love to have pictures in the files tab show by default in big thumbnails so you don't have to open to see them.

In SharePoint, you have the option to display files in a list, compact list or tile (with thumbnail) view. To be effective, Teams needs this functionality as well. If a folder contains just images, the option to scroll (left / right cursor key) through them would also be very useful.

Now that it is merged, please Microsoft, don't just do it for files view.
Its about the human cognition.
If I spot a picture or a document visually I am 100% more likely to recognize it, than by Name.So please in activity to and after I upload a file while writing a post/messsae in the thread too.... It might help me spot a erroneously "uploaded" file.
