If you paste a link it should embed the media right in the chat (Gif, mp4, youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud etc.)
The team has not made a decision on whether to move forward with this feature. We will update when we have new status to share.
I've made a video, even uploaded it to Stream, and there is no way to embed it in a channel message? :(

This entire process is completely asinine. Why do we even have to go through this for what is an intuitive feature that the app should already have??
Is there an update on this?

Why is everything which is standard in other IM "under review" for years in teams??
Seriously is it that broken that the dev team is snowed under with substantial fixes that these things cannot be added simply. Or is the architecture so poor that these things are very difficult to modify.
Even the web hooks integration between teams and Azure is broken. Try setting up a web hook between DevTest Labs shutdown notifications and teams. lol Who is managing this mess. Slack is your competitor and its killing teams. So many people in the organisations I'm working with want to avoid teams because of all this. Teams is a flash in the pan, wont last long, they have all the gear but no idea. Shame.
After more mthan 2 years (2 YEARS) the idea of: "If you paste a link it should embed the media right in the chat (Gif, mp4, youtube, Vimeo, Soundcloud etc.)" is still under review?!?!?
We´re in 2018, please fix this.

Users need that functionnality. TV Advertisement is made on slack. So tthe comparison is easy to do.
It doesn't facilitate user experience!

Slack, Google Hangouts etc. have this feature. Its not a nice to have. it needs to be part of the overall solution.

Supporting oEmbed would be a REALLY nice feature.
There is no way to insert a video into a Wiki?! UGHHHh
It really makes everything much more natural to have embedding as a built in option. Not doing so takes you back at least a decade.
I look forward to the implementation of this feature.

This would be a wonderful improvement.
This is a disappointing missing feature for anyone transitioning from Slack. It's not unusual to want to share videos within a team, and needing to open another window and download it (even on mobile!) isn't a good experience.
Any updates on this? Youtube embed support would be great!

Any update on this? Slack has this feature.

There must be options for the receiver to control the default behavior of the video, including:
- Do not show videos
- Show neutral placeholder
- Show still preview
- Auto-play (silent)
As with all other presentation options, this should be configurable on a per-channel and per-user basis.
we would like to have a possibility to upload (directly or via link) and then play a video right within conversations in teams (the same way as it is available for example in Whatsapp or Facebook).
This is very required feature (as e.g. Whatsapp has it). Please do something about it.
