Team Templates
A team template!! Much like sharepoint document site or site templates that contain a specific layout and set of documents this would be amazing for a team template. We could deploy a team for each project we had that had a preset assignment of planner tasks and documents attached to it and a preset of channels that goes with that team. Could really make a big difference in the way we deploy and use teams.

Thank you for your continued feedback. This feature is now available . For more information, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/create-a-team-from-a-template-a90c30f3-9940-4897-ab5b-988e69e4cd9c.

We have tested templates for Teams, but currently it seems all channels besides General are hidden by default. We would like the ability for the Team template to enable to them to be shown by default.

Hello,
are you considering to be able to disable Templates so that they are not offered for selection in the drop down for template?
Thanks,

I believe this feature is a basic feature that should be included as quickly as possible.

My organization has deployed Teams globally for all 450,000 employees world wide. Many of us use the Teams Team function to manage projects and in some practices our projects are primarily rapid; less than three weeks. The projects have a framework of file folders and file templates we use for each project. It would save a LOT of time just for our group if this would work and it appears nothing has happened on this in two years. Example of time savings
40 proj/wk x 30 min/proj = 20 hours a week repetitive task (this is what automation fixes)
20 hr/wk x 52 wk = 1,040 hours a year (typical work year is 2080 so half the year)
if each person creating this makes $50k/yr or $24/hr creating this would save the company.....
$24,960 FOR JUST MY TEAM OF 40 PEOPLE OUT OF 450,000 WORLD WIDE! -

It's been almost two years since any status comment! How about an update?
Templates are resource multiplier for using teams that everyone is waiting for. If creating a template feature is too complicated, at least make copying a team include all the content in the original team. We can make our own templates.

We use teams for continuous professional development on a country scale. Professionals create learning groups i.e. teams. Setting them up as a team requires us to provision a ready made team environment with a couple of tabs, files, documents etc. As many of these users are new to teams, we really need to make it a good first impression, with MINIMAL user configuration required. The current approach where we can create a new team by using the "create from and existing team" sounds promising, but falls **way** short of expectation. Perhaps we need to write code using microsoft graph, but the intermediate step for a lo-code/no-code environment should be TEMPLATES. Due to covid there is accelerated roll out to large user enterprise users. They too will need/want templates. It is a critical ingredient for roll out at scale in my experience. One of the reasons windows gained a bad reputation in the late 90s is that there were too many screens to click through to configure/administer it. PLEASE don't make the same mistake with teams.

Hi, whats the status about this crucial feature. A lot of my clients ask for that and I would really like to help them. Is there a workaround or something an admin could do?

I am just wondering whether these comments are taken serious if one can see that the last answer is from Aug.2018!
And this request is fundamental.
I get crazy without this team templates that allow to build up one standard team layout with all the needed structure, tabs and files that should be the basis for many subsequent Teams starting exactly with the same template. -

+1 for Channels templates, including Files default directory structure and documents as well as default Planner-all elements (buckets, tasks, checklist items, default assignments, and start date/due dates relative to creation (or provided seed date)). Could put Teams to use with that kind of functionality.... :-)

Please create a Teams base "Learning Space" template focused on driving user adoption & readiness. A Teams learning space layout to increase users learning & product knowledge from within Teams, especially for the pilot stage of planning. Like these Teams base templates (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/smb-templates).

+1 for having a Channel Template. We group our Teams by support unit and then each client has a channel. We'd like to see more Channels copy functionality for our org.

This would be SO helpful to building out our Teams infrastructure. If this feature was available it would help us sell this into different business units MUCH faster.

We really need the ability to create Teams Templates and include the Lists associated with the Team. It is disappointing that it doesn't. Is there any update on this?

Hi Warren,
We would like to be able to create Team template with a set of created folders with the Files tab. Do we know when this will be possible?

@warren Can you provide any updates on the priority of this feature request? We're looking to standardize folder/file structure for new Project Teams.

This would be a really great feature. Trying to mass-deploy a user created Team in a support centre to 300+ retail stores in the field, this feature is a real omission.
