Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.

We are getting closer, and are still working thru some bugs, but hope to release this as part of a Public Preview pack in early 2021! (Windows 10 released with the December 2020 pack this week)
You can learn more about the new Microsoft Teams Public Preview program here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreview, and Teams administrators can find documentation to manage which users will see the Public Preview option here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreviewAdmin

I'm trying not to go in negative vibe on this, but if only you could give us a real progress status indication instead of these long-gone-by target dates?

So frustrating! For a App that is supposed to replace Skype .. it is very lacking.. Especially this particular aspect of not using native MacOS notifications! Please can this be addressed Microsoft!

Wonderful. Can this be released soon so Teams better follows the macOS Accessibility API instead of assigning notifications the AXStandardWindow subrole?

OMG guys just roll out this feature finally and fire the product owner who thought it was a good idea not to use default mac notifications in the first place

Really? No updates since April 8th? This is a very much needed feature that should have been there since the very beginning.
Why is it taking so long? -

It is now getting close to the end of the quarter AFTER the quarter you said this would hopefully public. We really need an update as (like Skype for Business), The Microsoft applications are not ready for enterprise use if the basic functionality is not present.
Microsoft's Lync 2010 for mac had to wait until 2017 to be updated to S4B, and when it was, it STILL didn't have the persistent chat option. Please do better with Teams

Thumbs down for Microsoft not being transparant about the progress on this. Notifications in Teams are currently totally useless as I miss a lot of updates due to notifications not showing whenever another application is in full-screen mode, not to mention their notifications ignore the Do not disturb feature of macOS, really embarrassing and annoying.
I actually wonder what Microsoft was thinking when they actually put time and effort into developing their own inferior custom solution, even though there was a superior native solution already in place. It totally makes no sense!
