Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.

We are getting closer, and are still working thru some bugs, but hope to release this as part of a Public Preview pack in early 2021! (Windows 10 released with the December 2020 pack this week)
You can learn more about the new Microsoft Teams Public Preview program here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreview, and Teams administrators can find documentation to manage which users will see the Public Preview option here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreviewAdmin

Business Skype for MacOS is horrible, but at least has OS notifications. Teams is better but with useless notifications. Useless notifications from a MESSAGING APP! WTF MS?

Over 2300 up votes and over a year and a half since "working on it"! How long can it take you to simple make use of the MacOS notifications that are ALREADY THERE FOR YOU?!?!

This is just crazy, how hard is it to use the notification system built right into the OS rather than rolling your own system that ignores things like DnD. Come on!

Well, no surprises, Microsoft says "be what's next", that's why they can't deal with any present technology. The native macOS notifications still aren't here. #abandon

Frustrating and a big fail… what else to say. It took me 10 minutes to hack some basic Desktop-Notifications into the Teams-Plugin of Franz (https://electronjs.org/docs/tutorial/notifications). What are you doing there? The only explanation I have: you're trying to create the worst user-experience on MacOS …

Most of our Mac users have now moved on to other messaging systems, or back to Skype. This needs to be urgently addressed please!

I guess we have to wait until 2020 (or 2021?). Nice job Microsoft!
This suggestion was posted exactly 3 years ago, and being worked on since 1,5 years. How could this take so extremely long?

Please continue working on this! It's very frustrating how the Teams notifications get hidden behind my MacOS native notifications.
I never reply from the notification window anyway, so that feature wouldn't be missed.
And integration with MacOS Do Not Disturb would be awesome!

What is infuriating is that my MacOS native notifications cover up the Teams notifications. They both appear on the top right of the desktop, but since Teams isn't using MacOS notifications they get covered up by the native ones.
Also, not being integrated with MacOS Do Not Disturb is very frustrating. PLEASE switch to Mac native notifications - even if it means I can't reply from the notification window. That's not important to me.

This is crazy how long this is taking! I hate how teams notifications popup under native ones! Come on Microsoft, put it in the native so that they are actually useful!

Add my voice to the chorus. Teams notifications on macOS are ugly, non-standard and not configurable at all. And look at the word spacing – it renders notifications unreadable if a message is more than a few words. Come on, Microsoft. Use the OS tools, please.
