Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.
We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.

Your notifications need to be ported to notification manager. Proprietary MS notifications appear behind all other notifications on OSX, super annoying.

Please use the OSX-native Notifications mechanism build into the OS for MS Teams notifications. In this way, you will allow Teams users to manage Notifications in the same way as they do all other OSX apps.

Notifications in Teams is intrusive and annoying. Use MacOS notifications and bounce the dock icon.

Teams notifications are useless 80% of the time as they're usually hidden beneath an existing OSX Notification / Reminder in that top corner.
The ability for MS Teams to use OSX native notifications is obvious and crucial.

This is crucial. Current notification system on teams is unreliable and most of the time you don't see the notification or it's hidden behind something. And when I do not want to see notifications (DND) they just pop up.

It's really sad that integrations with other apps are prioritized over core functionality of the Teams app. Turning off notifs until this is fixed.

It is incredibly annoying that this feature is not implemented. You either do not care about people using you software or do not care about this particular product.
Please give us some control. At very least allow me to choose it to dissapear on its own after a couple seconds.

The bonkers thing is that a Teams Notification sits behind any System Notification making it unreadable and potentially impossible to interact with.
Extremely annoying. Often it would overlay my recent/active browser tabs. The only way to dismiss it is to click on the notification which opens Teams and then minimise Teams to access tab.
I'm very close to disabling notifications all together.
This is very much an issue for us. This should be default behavior, and frankly is hard to understand why you would elect to roll your own notification system rather than leverage the notification system of the OS.

As far as I see, Windows recently(?) got it’s own Notifications Center implementation. The similar issue for Windows can be found there https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16950997-integrate-with-windows-10-notification-center and it’s highly voted and seems to be WIP.
The actual issue for Mac users is there since Nov 2016 and still in review! I think it’s pretty clear who is their target audience (such a Microsoft style) – but Mac users must be heard. A lot of engineers prefer Mac, and they shouldn’t be changing scenarios they use their laptops on a daily basis just because of one single app, and the vendor that decided they can do their style outside of their territory.
Every single app in Mac does support native Mac OS Notifications Center (including Outlook – though everyone still remembers how long it took them to make this possible as initially there was the same issue). It is very important for Mac users since historically Notifications Center integrated into the system in such a way that you can control Do Not Disturb settings globally and not on per-app basis. It is also important to keep application developers from doing Microsoft-style inconsistent UI/UX design (such as s point-clicking to discard a popup instead of a native swipe and zillion other small pieces that together makes Mac OS so user-friendly and useful). I know some users might think this is a limitations but I call this a care.
Also as it stands now there's no actual way to disable popups (even outside Notifications Center). You can disable notifications entirely, or disable email notifications, but you can't disable banners and keep emails. Honestly this doesn't make any sense to me. I often sharing my screen. Sometimes the session being recorded. I find this issue a blocker and a serious privacy violation. It might be harmful both personally and for the business. Every single chat app that I’ve used (including but not limited: Skype, Skype4Business, Telegram, Slack, HipChat, Outlook) does support this. The only exception that I know about is Teams.
