Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.

We are getting closer, and are still working thru some bugs, but hope to release this as part of a Public Preview pack in early 2021! (Windows 10 released with the December 2020 pack this week)
You can learn more about the new Microsoft Teams Public Preview program here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreview, and Teams administrators can find documentation to manage which users will see the Public Preview option here: https://aka.ms/TeamsPublicPreviewAdmin

Why has this not been rolled out yet. I'm constantly missing notifications be cause I don't seem them popup and then disappear in an off to the side monitor. Slack uses the system notifications on Mac so I was able to use the Mac settings to leave the notifications up on the screen until I dismissed them.

Good morning,
This is sorely missed. This ad-hoc approach to notifications has them appear under the system notifications that macOS exposes for just this purpose so they are hidden and unreadable. Additionally they don't respect the do not disturb feature in macOS which means that internal communications can pop on screen while presenting in web meetings. This is just an amateurish approach and I expect better from an organization with the scale and reputation of Microsoft. Further it seems unacceptable that with a feature request garnering so much support that Microsoft remain silent for months after committing to "working on it". This doesn't strike me as being a large undertaking to make use of a feature that Apple have already made available to developers via a simple API call. Why is it that nearly eight months later there is no fix or even a simple update on status. We as your customers deserve better.
Thank you,
Sam. -

Since so much time has transpired since the last update, I'm now theorizing that the MS dev team must be using Teams notifications for this website as well.
So likely they're just missing those notifications as well for all of these comments requesting this feature.

Can you at least provide an update? I think the nearly 2500 people who have requested this deserve to know why you haven't made any progress in over six months.

Well people, look at how long the developer team for Outlook on Mac OS has made users wait for a native Mac OS Notification implementation. It's been forever and no result yet. If Teams takes as long as Outlook, then we're in trouble.

you were "working on it" on April 08, 2019 but it's not done on November 17, 2019?? In that amount of time you could teach yourself to program and create the fix.

Unreal, not a word from MS. This can be done in a day by a student. MS doesn’t care able Apple.

How is this still an open request? Over 2400 votes and it will take like 20 minutes to just fix it!! MS is a joke!

Seems like Steve Ballmer is still in charge of the development of Microsoft Teams

This is insane, how can this still be an issue after 18 months of working on it. This could be solved by an intern in two hours! Terrible experience.
