Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.
We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.

"We are getting closer… the team is almost ready to rollout MacOS notification support internally for testing – we hope to have it to the public by the end of this quarter." - 8 April 2019
Can we get an update??

At MINIMUM, we need a way to silence all notifications like the MacOS Do Not Disturb function. I can't have notifications popping up when I am screensharing and turning all the options off/on individually is crazy.

ONE API CALL. ONE.
(Yes, that is an oversimplification, but you already have this abstracted away to support native notifications for Windows.)
I'm inclined to write a launcher for Teams that injects custom sources that are hooked into the module loader so that custom patches can be installed.
That sure would suck for customer support to rule out first for every ticket.
Alex, can you share an update and ETA, please?

my teams desktop client will become unresponsive when I receive a desktop notification. it just displays a white box in the corner, until I hover over it, then it starts to respond. I would really like to see the desktop notifications converted to the native macOS badges and notifications. I only experience the unresponsiveness when my external monitor is plugged in.

Come on, it's almost 4 years now. Teams is now mandatory due to the COVID issue, the Teams notification system is a joke.

Any found a work around?
Teams app on my android logged in with the same and Pushbullet to share the notifications from my phone to the mac
Update, please? I've missed Teams calls because I wasn't notified on my Macbook Pro.You've seriously been working on it since April of 2018? Come on. Have you heard of Covid? Millions of people are wanting to use your product right now. Fix this, please.

You seriously have Windows native notifications implemented as 'OSNotificationService'. Not 'WindowsNotificationService'...
How many years does it take Microsoft to fix a basic function that only needs to make a system call to the OS?? I guess now we can understand how Microsoft has fallen so much as an organization from their point of dominance in the 1990s.
So, Microsoft... Are you on track of disappointing us again in the month July? New month, new opportunities of disappointing loyal customers.
This is a terrible problem that I have. If I'm on a zoom call I automatically put my computer on Do Not Disturb, but I also don't want to tell everyone at work that I'm on 'Do Not Disturb." via teams. If I don't remember to close teams or put on 'Do Not Disturb' my screen share shows everyone I'm talking to my notifications, it's terrible!
We need an update ASAP on this feature.

No update since February?!?!? This is should not be this difficult.
You have to understand that this isn't a preference or a small annoyance, it's a basic usability issue. Teams notifications are hidden behind native MacOS notifications, rendering them useless. Please provide an update on when this broken aspect of Teams will be fixed.
The fact that notifications will still come pouring in, despite being on a Teams call or in the middle of a screen share, would be reason enough to release this feature already.
Please do this - the default notifications are pretty bad and should respect do not disturb and look the same as all other macos notifications

is the MacOS Teams development team one intern who spends their remote working day watching TikTok?
Please please push this forward in your release cycle, there will be thousands of delighted users when they can manage all of their notifications in one place.
