Agreed! So useful on slack when sending files between 2 computers! Can't do it on MS Teams :(

Wow, I thought more people would vote for this!
It's very useful to be able to send yourself chats to help with transferring documents/images and notes across multiple devices, especially for mobile team members.
I find this method a lot easier to do over other options like using Word Docs/One Note or Google Keep as MS Teams is a vital product to me and my team, so it's always open on every device I have - it's better to use just one product instead of having multiple.

PLEASE add this. Just another reason why we're looking to move to Slack.

How is this not a feature yet?

They probably expect you to use OneNote, no thanks

Please add this feature. Slack has it and it is SO useful for drafting messages, sending links between phone and laptop, etc. It would make the Teams experience so much better!

I added this feature to my company's Teams. It's very simple. Just go in to App Studio in Teams and create a new bot. Call it "Notes" or something. Add an icon for it if you want. Then download the manifest file and install it.
There is zero programming to this. There is no "bot" on the back-end. All you do is create a manifest file using the point and click wizard in Teams App Studio and add some icons.
Now you have a bot with no brain. All you can do is send messages to it and it does nothing. This is exactly what you want. Now you can send messages to your "Notes" bot and they will be there for reference the next time you access the bot. You can pin the chat, or add the bot to your left hand menu for easy access.

(WORKAROUND) create a meeting (Photos and Stuff) to your self. Join the meeting and post a comment. End the meeting. Now pin the meeting chat and you should be able to post text and photos the the meeting chat and they will show up in the chat for the meeting on all your devices.
We used the meeting feature to complete a photo site survey. After the meeting everyone assigned to complete a survey of a site just posted the photos to the meeting chat from their phone. Worked like a charm. :-)

Seems like a simple function but we created "personal" private Teams for us to be able to do this

I can't imagine that this would be a tough feature to implement. I wouldn't even be upset if at first it appeared twice (like sending a text to yourself - once for sent, once for received) just to be able to get this out the door quicker.
Small, quick wins are always great to bring into a sprint :)

My biggest miss from Slack. I used it all the time for important things I needed to keep for quick reference. Whoever suggested use of OneNote in Teams misses the point that there is no "ME alone" space in Teams to even use the OneNote plug-in, unless I set up a Team with just me (which is violation of our corporate policy).

I use this all the time in Slack to send screenshots and the like between devices when testing. It's a 101 feature of a messenger service
