I agree, please add this fundamental feature!
WORKAROUND 1 (repeated from below):
Create a new team, make it private, and don't add any other members to it. Send yourself messages in there.
WORKAROUND 2 (if you do not have permissions to create new teams):
Use the Wiki extension/app and create a personal wiki page for snippets that you want to share between computers etc.
Hi MS Team!
I wonder the approach you have, doing [clones of] something. The Slack team is promoting the ability to send a message to yourself as a one of the cool feature of their messenger and it's really helpful - you can find many "thanks" for Slack team for that feature.
It's definitely was a requirement for Teams application to _exclude_ yourself from the list of message recipients and it's definitely additional efforts to implement it. So, product owner / project manager / analyst (all of them) spent time to decide to create and describe this requirement; developer(s) implemented; QA team run tests and, sure, it had been documented. All of that is just to, intentionally, kill the useful feature spending additional money for that.
I assume that implementing the messaging to yourself will require efforts to avoid some specific side effects at the platform/app, but is it so complex and more benefitable to kill the feature, especially when you have a brilliant example to follow by?
Can you, guys, explain it?
Kaizala has this, would be a good addition to Teams.
Was exactly looking for that today.
One note adds a lot of barriers for taking notes. I would like to be able to pop open my team's window and send myself a note.

At my company we used this Slack feature a lot.
Already on front page for Top recommendations.
Every TEAMS user needs a private personal channel that they can use for notes, images, tasks and etc.
Please add !
i would like to write to my own user to take notes or for reminders
Have a personal Channel for each user/allow messages to oneself. All major enterprise chat systems allow this and makes it much easier to access files, test features without bugging other users, etc
Furthermore, HipChat uses S3 buckets to store files uploaded that are publicly accessible. This is a bit of a double edged sword, since it's insecure putting it lightly, but it's a great method for uploading small files to a server because you get a link to the file once you send it to yourself and wget can retrieve that link.

In slack there is a really useful option to open a chat with yourself. If you are working on multiple computers, you can take some notes or documents easily with you to another computer.
This is a big one for, I use it in Slack all the time to rubber-duck my programs. Not having it in teams is aggravating.
