My use case: multiple machines with Teams on it, need to transfer a file between them easily.

+1 for sure. To manage personal risk, I need a place to make a time-stamped journal entry that only I can see, and it comes up with my searches. This allows me to search for past personal tags e.g. #lessonslearned_project_1 or #1on1BossMinutes. This also allows me to prepare my conversation messages and then copy and paste them in from the same platform with the same formatting.
The benefit: This helps me keep my boss accountable. He's getting old and forgetful, and I need a way to look back on my notes and keep him honest. Same goes with my project manager, who likes to bully, and this functionality helps me keep him honest with perspective. This also helps me solidify verbal conversations in my head, so that I have an easier time recalling them
For competitive context, Slack allows a user to enter a "chat" message to themselves, which can be searched for at a later date. While I could do this in OneNote or MS Word, it's more frictionless to do it in the chat tool of MS Teams.

my fudge was to create a private channel and not invite anyone so now everyone can see the channel but everyone is left out and sad.
ms you've always had the concept of 'my' why not 'my' chat. -

Typical that Microsoft doesn't incorporate needed features from the get go. Quite disappointed since I use this at work, and need to document information for myself on my mobile device. I end up using the wiki and this takes multiple steps and is not quickly available. Signal has the option, why not Teams?

This would be a very useful addition to MS teams. Writing notes, To-Dos, Reminders and many more possibilities all within one tool, Teams. We need not hop over different tools to achieve all of these.

I'd like it because I'm new to Teams and want to try the formatting etc. on a message before I send it to someone, also to keep a note or reminder. Please add it!

Is there a way to create a group chat and remove others to leave just yourself (a la WhatsApp workaround)?

I chat with myself between desktop and mobile by using "Meet Now" on Desktop, then the mobile app instantly shows me the option to join the meeting. When I do that, I can then choose to join and remain in the meeting on the desktop as well, or join and boot my desktop presence. Pretty slick. Allows me to show my screen from the phone to the desktop for various testing scenarios.

@Anonymous, re:
"The first way:
(you can only make one chat with this one and it will be named Just Me)
- Go onto a chat with someone who's not you.
- Go onto the options and a chat will be created with that persons message
- Delete the person's message from the top of the chat to have a blank slate"What does 'Go onto the options...' mean? Please describe where the button is (is it the triple-dot overflow menu on a single chat message?), what the icon looks like, and what menu options to click after that.
