Move a project (channel) from one team to another
We would like to move a project (channel) between groups to keep the information.
This continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.

Yes Moving from one team to another for Archiving purposes and get a channel out of the active team. So you are not having to search threw data that is no longer relevant for the team
Yes, a way to copy a channel (or at least channel content) to a new Team would work as a workaround if moving isn't possible. If it can't be done directly in Teams, I would love to be able to at least do it on the backend through SharePoint or something. Thanks.

This functionality (i.e. copying a template to a new channel) is also an absolute must for my consulting business.
We create a template for all our projects and then what to copy that template as we start a project.
This is a must as the template is very time intensive and we don't have the time to do this on 100 projects a year
Yes Much Needed
Yes, we need this feature. Comes up all the time.
Please start working on this!

If not move, can you at least copy content (including settings & membership) from one Team/Channel to another?

This project along with archiving Channels is vital to the future of Teams... without it, this product becomes more unwieldy and unmanageable than an Outlook inbox. Which entirely defeats the purpose of the tool.
The same thing: if you could change messages from one chat / channel to another
This feature is very interesting... In th same way, it Will be fantastic if you could put a message and select all the channels to publish it at the same time.
This is essential for project management and collaboration of teams. Please check the possibilities again to create a feature in the near future.
There's currently not really a workaround available to move content around.
when we find a channel evolves to state where a proper team would be the better solution the discussion of what is more valuable begins:
- have the backlog discussions and search functionality in the old team
- cater to the new requirements and start fresh
It always depends on the situation, but I'd already be happy with moving a channel to a different team as a read-only tab, sort of a compromise between searchability and functionality.
Please add this ability. We have channels that start off involving one group of people and then expand and we need to add a larger audience to the channel but don't want to add them to our team.
My current workaround is to create a new channel where i would like to move the chat to and then remove team members from the old one. I don't delete the old one until I'm sure people aren't looking for it. Any actions in planner are either recreated or i try to link to the old plan via the new channel. Any Wiki is manually copied.
What I would like:
drag and drop movement of the channel to a different team
old conversations to be preserved
team members able to access the conversation/wiki are changed to be those members of the new team location
planner (if there is a tab) to be linked to from the new location but i can do this manually if needed
other tabs removed and I'll recreate.
i will then update the team members as needed. if you implement channel level membership then i'll update that instead/as well
Please add this!
