Move a project (channel) from one team to another
We would like to move a project (channel) between groups to keep the information.
This continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.

We need an update on the current status, because 17 months is far too long to wait.

Any further updates other than the last one 17 months ago?

Will add to the be agile if things change an channels should move to other teams!
It would be very useful to be able to move channels around to accommodate new team structures etc

As I learn more about Teams, this would help with organizing so much better than creating a million Teams for everyone i work with.

Needed. Will help with the management of a growing number of channels and archiving

I don't actually like Teams, but we have to work there as a company...
I would like to take a team that I created and make it into a private channel for another team. I assume that is not possible? Would I need to move all the material file by file? My list of teams is starting to become overwhelming. I did not know to create private channels in bigger projects that I am part of until recently.
AGAT Software have a solution for this
Also available in Microsoft Appsource
Only a matter of time before someone comes up with a similar platform that has the basic functionality of being able to move something from one location to another. As part of a project team, this would ultimately be a really useful feature but at least I can get sent gifs from people while I wait...
After using Teams for a few years, we have restructured the organisation a couple of times but stuck with our original set up because of the limitations.
I love that you are building Teams to have better webinars and other features but please give some love to the fundamentals too
Why this is needed has been explained by many people here. Why it's still not available as basic functionality is unbelievable.
It's hard to believe this hasn't made the priority cut since it was first introduced in 2016. This should be starting point functionality. Justin's comment below is spot on. A company's structure can change rapidly, which makes this limitation a real obstacle. If we have to create a whole new channel, we will lose the previous thread's content.
indeed, amazingly low UX and operationality from an organisational standpoint as the need to adapt to the organisational structure, and not lose history of channels, is critical.
Sad to see this is still awaiting prioritisation

I just created 18 hidden sub-channels in the WRONG teams channel!! I now have to delete the ones I created, and then recreate them in the right team. REALLY need to be able to move them. Thank you.
I support this idea! After using Teams for more than a year now, this is a necessary functionality to declutter my Teams space and remain efficient!
Appreciate your support!
This feature is sorely needed! Any updates?

This would be a very valuable feature. When you begin using Teams it isn't readily apparent that the teams need to change, until you begin to actively use Teams.
Please work on this feature ASAP. It's killing the value proposition of the tool!!!

Really really need this.
When will this be realized? The feedback for the admin dates February 2020.
