Move a project (channel) from one team to another
We would like to move a project (channel) between groups to keep the information.

This continues to be on our backlog due to prioritization of other work items. We will update when there is more to share.

Needed now, as it was needed 10 months ago.

Would this allow one whole team to be merged into a channel? When our organization first adopted teams, we created a lot of individual teams that could now all be managed in one team with several channels instead.

Surprised this hasn't been addressed yet, since it's been so demanded since pretty much the rollout of MS Teams. Teams evolve and reorganize, so it's fundamental for their channels and contents to be rearranged as their organization changes.

Please can we get an update on this? It's been years. Not days, not months, years! There is no way this can be that complicated to implement. It almost like you thought no structure would ever move or no projects or teams would ever merge or split. Please fix this.

This still could be the dealbreaker. Often times the time and effort that is being put into the content of an channel is just to high to just create a new channel. But often enough, continueing to use the channel in its original location is just not an option. Not having this option REALLY HURTS.

SharePoint and OneNote are not enabling you Microsoft. They are hindering you and your products, like MS Teams. Any speed to market you achieved through building on top of SharePoint and OneNote is being lost by slow delivery and inability to enhance your products.
I firmly believe this is why moving a Channel between teams is so difficult for you. Please don't dig the hole deeper!

I work in construction project planning and this feature could end up being a deal breaker for us. How is it saving me time if I have to create a whole new channel every time a job goes from a quote to a project? Does anyone even have a timeline on this yet, could it happen this year? PLEASE!

I need this feature please! Multiple people made different Teams for the same project and I want to merge them into one Team. I need to be able to move everything together. Voting to enable please!!

We have needed this since we started trying to use Teams. We're in construction and we start a channel in the "Quotes" team and then, if we get the job, we need to move everything to the Project Management Team. As a work around, we create a new channel in PM, manually move all the files, and then delete the empty channel from the Quotes team
I understand that this type of feature doesn't help with competing with Zoom (which seems to be the entire focus of Teams right now) but it sure would be useful. We've never used Teams for a video call or meeting. We use it as a user-friendly front end to Sharepoint. -

I work in construction and would like this so that we can move projects (channels) from pre-construction to operations. That way they have all the notes, documents, and bids in one place at one time.

Any update on this? As we get more and more teams and channels this kind of admin/housekeeping functionality is needed.

Please prioritize this feature - we need to be able to move a channel from one Team to another!

Already on the backlog for one year. Meetings should not be the only priority of MS Teams. With more an more working remote, this option should be available very soon. Please put it up in the ranking and start working on it again. The number of votes says it all!
