Would like the ability to create a reminder or task from a message
In Slack there is an ability to click message options and set a reminder to take action on that message at some later date, e.g., remind me about this tomorrow or in 1 hour, etc. I think they use their "slackbot /" commands to create this reminder. In Teams, it would be nice to have this ability or to create a task to take action on a message at some later time. Thanks!

I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.
Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.
Hope that helps! :-)

Having this added would be very helpful and more useful than a Saved message workflow and another inbox type scenario

It is super useful having slash commands like in Slack - as in - /remind #channel about conference call in 45 minutes
To be honest, I find Teams to be severely crippled in SO MANY ways - the lack of slash commands is a major one.
The other crippling thing about Teams is its UI - it is painful and unusable. Just copy the Hip Chat or Slack UI. It solves so many issues in Teams layout. Why force the fixed width of chat text - flow it to the width of the screen. Kill the unnecessary white space. Compact it so it can be useful in communicating and accessing information. Right now, it feels like a phone app being run on my desktop and laptop. I have 24" monitors for a reason. If I wanted to use a tablet app, I'd pull out my iPad or Android tablet.
I do like the channel tabs (for OneNote since the wiki functionality in Teams is pretty much useless with its current feature set.)
I want to love Teams and I applaud Microsoft for trying. But seriously. Somethings got to give. Back to slash command reminder functionality:
USE CASE that Outlook can not address - timely team wide reminders automatically sent to make sure everyone in a specific channel is aware of X in proximity time-wise relevant to when X is going to happen. Example:
/remind #HelpDesk in 15 minutes "Everyone, the file server will be going down at 5:30 pm CST."
And again right before 5:30pm
/remind #HelpDesk at 5:00pm "Everyone, the file server will be going down at 5:30 pm CST."
This is just one usage.
I also use Slack personally in addition to Outlook to remind me of important meetings, appts and other critical items on my calendar.
Just like TV didn't replace the radio, team chat isn't going to replace email and calendar collaboration. We are going to weave these applications together in ways that best suit our individual business needs.
Thus, I use both email and calendar AND Slack to make my work smarter and more efficient.

This will be extremely useful. Can even be a slash command.

@Suphatra - The bookmarks are handy, but not the same thing. In Slack, I can say "Remind me at 3:00pm to go get some water." I don't need to remember to go look at my bookmarks at 3:00pm: Slack just notifies me.

I used "/remind me to do this task tomorrow at 09:00" or "/dnd" for do not distrurb in slack a lot, really sad to see this still missing in MS teams, hope this usability feature will get on the roadmap. Can't even find a bot that does this and the bookmars feature is not doing the same thing sadly. The reminders you created like this in Slack could even be hidden from everyone else, you just used the chat box as your postit note to create a reminder, no matter what chat you where in

Any update on this. Using teams a lot of users miss the function to "this i have to process" later, and the bookmark function is not working good enough.
This is a killer for increased Teams adoption - The users then rather want to send emails, because there they have more controll on how they ensure that they do not forget to reply to all incoming emails

This Really needs to be escalated. I'm finding the need for this more and more. "Remind me in" as a tickler is such an amazingly useful tool. I hope this gets added soon.

Can I ask to make connection to Microsoft flow "When a Save the message" is clicked then we can do something in a Flow with this - send e-mail, make a task etc. Simple flow connection give users lots of scenarios they need.

Saved/bookmarked is current too hidden and is not able to be organized in a custom order. The notifications also all go away once I click in. I want to be able to mark things as read or unread like in my email so I know I still have to work on things.

Similar to the Saved tab, can we have an action for adding to our Outlook todo tasks?
Would be extremely helpful and flexible, basically one of the main reasons to save a message is if you need take action on it

Supporting the conversion of chat messages into actionable items and being able to remind yourself to look at something later on is critical. I've got team members who are going back to Outlook for what they deem as "important" messages because they want people to see it -- implying that people are missing critical things in Teams despite the "!" and despite all the other features.
In the end, simply clicking on a conversation and saving it to a bookmark folder named "Follow-up" would be good. Being able to categorize and re-categorize (e.g., from "Follow-up" to "Done") or integrating as James O said with Outlook Tasks would be outstanding

I agree with Jason Tenpenny. I need notification - not only for myself, but notification for everyone in the channel, just like "\remind" command in Slack.

I agree with Jason Tenpenny - I really miss the reminder notification. Bookmark is good, reminder is better.

I like this idea, but also want the ability to view all saved messages and sort them in folders to find easier at a later date, particularly when those messages contain business decisions.

I think what the OP is looking for is a way to get a reminder notification. This is what Slack does. You can tell it to remind you in 15 minutes and it generates an alert in 15 minutes saying "you asked me to remind you about [text from the original message]". This would be very useful if I get a message to check on something but I can't do it right then. This would keep me from forgetting about it.

SUPHATRA. I think he probably knows about your solution. Although it is necessary to have bookmarked messages in one place under you profile so you can find them inaces you forget where you bookmarked, (please don't take that away) IT would be more beneficial if bookmarked were also chat or team specific which can be used as a TO DO or TASK in that specific area. Perhaps making them a TAB on top would be great solution, or if they should be considered private bookmarks then perhaps a Bookmark BUTTON under each CHAT/TEAM tha would expand a side bard with bookmarks.
