Would like the ability to create a reminder or task from a message
In Slack there is an ability to click message options and set a reminder to take action on that message at some later date, e.g., remind me about this tomorrow or in 1 hour, etc. I think they use their "slackbot /" commands to create this reminder. In Teams, it would be nice to have this ability or to create a task to take action on a message at some later time. Thanks!

I really like the suggestion of creating an alarm on a message, so you come back to it. I’ve passed this on to our engineering team.
Meanwhile, here’s another feature you can utilize for the same purpose — use our “bookmark” button, which is in the upper right corner of every message. This will save that message or thread directly to your profile. To access your saved messages, just click your face in the upper left corner of the product. You’ll see a tab in the left rail that says “Saved.” This is like a list of little reminders.
Hope that helps! :-)

Hey that workaround is not really relevant, as it doesnt provide a "reminder". The ability in Slack to very simply put a reminder on any post, and then the ability to dismiss/snooze reminders as they come up, is a really basic thing that Teams should have.

The most useful part of the slack reminder is it doesn't have to be related to a message or email. If I'm on a call and someone says they'll add me to something, I can easy go into slack and /remind @me tomorrow at 3pm follow up on being added to John's group.
It's crazy that Teams doesn't have something so simple and has ignored it since this was posted FOUR YEARS AGO. I miss slack.

I agree, this would be a nice feature. The recommended solution is not very robust. With Microsoft having a task management app this should already be done.

@Ilia P the Remind bot looks like a nice option - if it were not blocked by our organization due to privacy concerns.
This really needs to be addressed by the Teams developers. Outlook allows me multiple ways to keep track of things: leave message in Inbox, flag with or w/o reminders, move to a "follow up" folder, etc. None of that exists in Teams. Even the "Saved" option is buried 2 levels down so if you don't go there intentionally in regular intervals, stuff just gets lost.
We're only a few weeks into Teams, and I'm constantly getting chats and mentions where people remind me that I was supposed to look at something / do something. -

A reminder scheduled for a time to show up as a message on a team or person is very necessary and missing from Teams. Please make this an urgently needed feature.

Suphatra, no disrespect, but your "workaround" could not be any further from what people are asking for and is quite frankly a bit insulting. Please Google "/remind on Slack" to see exactly what people are asking for, as your bookmark suggestion is not even close.

Agreed with @Rinold. We need a reminder for individual messages

Thanks @Suphatra, but we need a reminder for it and sometimes need a recurring reminder.

again, suggest this could integrate with Planner enhancement, and ask all Team users use Planner

Hi guys & gals, I found a great workaround to do it. You can use "Remind" bot.
Here is the installation link -> https://cutt.ly/remind-msteams-bot
P.s. I did not affiliated with the developers, just want to share great solution with you.

@Suphatra, thank you for this alternative, but there appears to be a large number of user issues regarding removing bookmarked / saved chat messages.
Is there a link to a feature request for this or a support page that shares how to remove flagged messages?
Thanks.

It looks like there are a number of similar UserVoice feature requests regarding “reminders” applied to chat messages, conversations, or certain notifications.
Comparatively, this is a feature that many of our former Slack users are missing and would greatly benefit our teams to see introduce to MS Teams.
Below is a list of URLs to some of the similar feature requests I was able to find. Please consider consolidating these requests to more accurately gauge your user voice.
Thank you.

What reminds you to look at your bookmarks? That honestly just seems like a terrible work around. Why not just say look at your calendar instead?

The "try this instead" is not a suitable replacement for a notification / alert on a msg. Please make this suggestion an urgent priority.

The bookmark work around is not an acceptable alternative

Saving a message does us no good if a reminder cannot also be received.

I was going to post this EXACT same question also... 80+ comments and 835 votes tell a product owner that end-users need this feature. I explored the bookmarking option, but this isn't a fix for my issue - I want Teams to nudge me, and this fix requires that I proactively remember that I've bookmarked something and then have to go find it. That's not a solution.
Do you really want to beat Slack? Listen to your community, provide visibility to your roadmap so they can see that you are, or are at least planning to, give them the capabilities they demand.

Hi Teams,
I was going to post this EXACT same question... I see that this was created three years ago though, and no changes have been made. I also see that there are 80+ comments, and most of them agree that we need this feature. Is there a reason this hasn't been addressed?I did explore the bookmarking option, but this isn't a fix for my issue - I want Teams to nudge me, and this fix requires that I proactively remember that I've bookmarked something and then have to go find it.
Please add in a reminder feature.
Thank you

Please add this in as a feature... I have used this feature in #slack on a daily basis since it is: self-contained; quick to access; very convenient since I will often forget what my to-dos are Even when planned out nicely -- these quick reminders are Essential for me, and many others. Thanks!!
