Render linked images
If I link an image by URL (jpg, gif, etc.) render it inline in the chat as if I had pasted the image from my clipboard.
Marking this as completed as a preview of linked images is now shown!
Thank you all for the feedback.

+1 for this to be disable-able. If I paste a URL, it's the *url* I want, not the image it might represent.
If I want the image, I'll insert the image (which one can already do, so don't think this is a very right-headed feature request, TBH).
Hopefully this will be a feature that you can "turn off" for specific messages since you might not always want this preview (even more so if the url is completely replaced with the image).
I don't know if this is a separate issue, but .bmp images don't render at all, let alone in-line. They just get uploaded as files that have to be clicked on.
This is a must for workflows with Graphic Designers. It keys for sending quick previews.

Rendering images, often fails with the link being something like: https://teams.microsoft.com/,

Would be great to have it :)

Skype consumer does this; would be great to have parity.

I definitely agree with this, i mean it can preview web pages, why can it not preview web images??

Surprised this isn't in here.
This feature is one of my favorite in competing products. It would be a shame if this didn't end up as a feature.
I was very surprised that this wasn't the default behavior. :(
