Allow adding custom emoji/memes/gifs/reactions
This feature remains on the backlog. We will update you when we have status changes to share.
This is the most important thing that my organization needs right now (he said sarcastically but with full sincerity)
backlog for 2+ years :(

We need a wine glass emoji

At least add in more of the Skype emoji. I miss my shaka.
I just started with a new company that uses teams. Coming from a Slack environment, I wanted to see what the MS Teams emoji game looked like. Welp, I've found out. Please place this on the frontlog. Thanks!
How is this not possible? We need to be able to add gifs

Agree with Francis comment. Where are those emojis from?
Alternatively, could you at least use the standard Unicode emoji set? Current team offering is confusing in its emoji choice and does not uses known standard codes.
Please add this feature!
Even Discord has this feature....
dude, this is on the back log for 3 years and no one does it....
I recently moved to MS Teams from Slack and this is a killer shortcoming. It's not just for "funny reactions" to peoples comments. The ability for us to add custom emojis for different workflows is critical to maintain established processes when you're coming from another messaging tool. This transition has been fairly rocky thus far because of how many useful features Slack has that Teams simply has no support for.
This has been on your backlog for 3.5 years?? Just be honest, it's not happening...

Want a simple mode for this and not a thousand emoji,
Takes longer to see the infrequently used emoji guess it's meaning and then make hopefully a proper response to it.
We use a workflow product for questions, requests and comment tracking. Teams is better built for free form conversations.

My team uses custom emoji to convey status on in-channel questions, comments, and requests. We can respond to a Pull Request with an "Approved" stamp or a "Comments" bubble, and the requestor follows up with a custom "Merged" reactions. It is a major time-saver for everyone's workflow as we can see at a glance the status of questions and requests in a channel and whether we need to give them focus.
Please get to custom emoji/reactions

Longest. Sprint. Ever.

Ummm whoever at Microsoft that has this on their priority list is not arguing loud enough. Make this # 1 if you want #Slack users to ever be satisfied.
Using gifs/custom emojis/memes is an important part of modern communication and the culture of many teams. Microsoft needs to move this up in priority if you want people to truly consider Teams a good alternative to programs like Slack, etc.
Can we PLEASE get emojis, memes, and gifs? This is the one of the main differences between Teams and Slack and keeping me and my team away from migrating to Teams completely. How long will this item in the backlog for? Thanks for hearing us!
Explain how we can scan emoji, memes, gifs and reactions for legal discovery purposes.
Can we have a safe set of these configured by the Teams administrator to prevent harassment.
on the backlog...for when???????
