Thank you for your continued feedback! We are happy to share that we have rolled out 800+ emojis to our Desktop and Web platforms, with Mobile rolling out in the coming months. This update includes 6 skin tone options, different genders for applicable emojis, and emojis featuring people with disabilities. Please note that you can also add native OS emojis using “Win + .” shortcut in Windows and “Cmd + Ctrl + Space” in MacOS.
Today, you can add a custom meme with your own caption in the Sticker/Memes feature. To learn more, please visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/send-an-emoji-gif-or-sticker-in-teams-174248c9-e64d-4de1-9f41-3199cc0751ad.

Will not move from Slack to Teams before this is implemented.
Need...custom...emoji's! Like Slack, you know Slack?
I just want my Carlton back...
You'll never be better than slack if you refuse to implement this feature.

Our school district switched to Teams because it's free with our licensing, and stopped using Slack. Big mistake. Conversation and productivity instantly tanked, nobody wants to use Teams. It's stale and boring. The main reason for that is the lack of custom emojis which made using Slack so much fun. Most of our staff resorted to using the free non-enterprise version of slack and Teams is a ghost town.
we recently got migrated from Notes/Sametime to O365.
Now everybody's missing the advantage to add customized emojis :-/
So PLEASE put some effort in providing this feature asap.
Thanks in advance
In today's world, emojis have become quite important. They are indispensable for users who once become accustomed to communicating with them. The only reason not to switch totally to teams is the lack of emojis.

+1 for emojis, so many use cases for them, it's not only "for fun".
+1 Moving from slack, this is a disappointment. We use emoji's and icons to annotate things so people can see things more quickly. Out of touch...
This is a must! There are people that can only speak emoji.

Please add custom emojis! The standard set is pretty uninspiring. No party parrot? No doom rage emoji? No Mind Blown guy? All I get is cartoon smiley or frowny face?
Because of our enterprise structure we're being moved from Slack to Teams. People aren't very enthusiastic because Slack was fun, Teams so far feels clinical. Emoji's are a quick and effective way to communicate. It's a way that individual teams can express their personality. It makes the tool fun. MS should see this little feature as a way to drive adoption.

Adding my voice to the chorus. PLEASE add the ability to add custom emojis. Perhaps the super-admin could toggle this ability on or off, at install time.
Believe it or not, this is a significant barrier to adoption for my team.
Do you want to capture market share from Slack? Do you want to show that Microsoft can be agile and can actually listen to its customers? THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE!
You absolutely MUST have custom emojis.....this is not optional.
This would be a requirement for me!
Please add to the Teams roadmap.

Please allow adding custom emoji! We just switched over to Teams from Slack and it's a feature we desperately miss. :party_parrot:
Thanks, I appreciate that it's in the backlog! i see a setting to allow custom memes to be uploaded... but no way to accomplish the actual upload

How is this not a thing yet, lol

Please bring this back out of the backlog. It's one of the major items that puts Slack ahead of this product, and I'd love to see my team adopt Microsoft Teams!
Bring back party parrot plz
