Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
Hooray! Multi-Window chat has been a long-awaited feature, and it is rolled out fully to the general public. Please be sure to “check for updates” and restart your client if you aren’t seeing it.

On my 14" Lenovo, the smallest pinned-screen size is 1/2 screen. That is WAY too much real estate to give up to use TEAMS instead of Skype or another messenger.
Must have. Sometimes you want to chat and work at the same time.
unable to reduce overall size of chat window to fit when using other programs.

This also needs the compact view option, so that small windows can be used effectively.
usability with multiple parallel chats is much better in Skype for Business
This is a no brainer. Please implement this!

Apparently there is another user-voice that isn't official that I just posted this too. However I'll vote and add my comments here. I think we need this big time. Make it an option.
"Add the ability to double click your chat and have it pop out to a window. This works exactly like that in the Skype for Business mac client and it's great. Give your the choice. Sometimes I'm working in a Team channel chat and talking to someone with Chat int he background and having to constantly switch tabs etc. to do so is annoying. Obviously switching to Skype for Business works too, but not everyone is on Skype for Business especially when External users come into the picture, it would be nice to chat with them as well once they are in teams.
Would be cool as well if you could even pop a channel out as well for the same reasons."

While a pop out would be awesome or ability to have a second teams window even- alternatively possibly if the active chat appeared in separate column in teams like the way channels and teams are listed in a column in the "Teams" part of the app - this might suffice so long as chat column would be frozen and always available across the other interfaces within the Teams app.

In a team with lots of channels, or if you're a member of lots of teams, it can be a pain to have to look through all the different conversation tabs to find the one you want. There should be a conversation tab at the Team and App wide levels that allow you see everything that's happening in one view.
When trying to work on something in teams while chatting with someone moving back and forth between the two is overbearing. It would be nice if you had an option to pop out Chat (including chat userlist and grouped chat windows) to a separate window so you can chat while working on items.
Otherwise really loving using Teams for projects at work, but this interface is pants.
I've been on an iMac so far, but now am working on a 2017 Macbook 15" screen and the Teams windows wont fit even at full screen ( I want the page contents panel open next to actual page content).
Seems average that windows cannot be resized with a simple drag. (Or at least be made responsive like 99% of the web or apps on market today).
Come on Microsoft - time to step the game up.
Super need this, when in group call, and someone share screen. It's cut in half. Getting worse with the camera auto pan, not focusing on the board but on presenter face.

Pop out chat conversations for quicker copy/paste to Team channels
Would improve our teams' usage of Teams, as we often need to have multiple side conversations but then contribute quickly to a channel conversation. Load-time between switching from chat to channel is a detractor for the adoption, at this point.
Make the screen size smaller, and the Chat a pop-up window, the same way Skype for Business currently works.

Amen. I wind up having Teams open, then 3-4 tabs in Chrome with Teams sessions. Not ideal. would love to run more than one instance/window.
when not my focus, I would like the window to be as small as I want not some minimum defined by M$
A more compact view for people with smaller screens/resolutions would be great. I try to run Teams on a 1920x1080 screen set to portrait (rotated) and Teams cannot even show the channel names at 1080 wide, so I constantly miss people posting in other channels.
The lack of options for layout and font size seem a step back compared to HipChat and other programs. Everything is huge in Teams, gigantic fonts, and the program needs to be at least 1200 pixels wide to even see the names of your channels.

We definitely need this. Very common need in my setup, work flow, and working environment. In OneNote, it is Ctrl-M. I wish Outlook had a shortcut key for this. But at least there you can right click a top-level node and Open in New Window... e.g. pop open to the Calendar while not losing your place in your busy inbox!! Same need in Teams and it goes WAY beyond just carrying on two chats at once. What if your are chatting about stuff and have a lookup/reference in a Wiki tab on another Team? Makes so much more sense to pop a new Teams window and bring it up side by side with the existing chat.

I just received this comment from other customer of mine and it sounds like a logical ask. For instance, during team meeting with screen sharing, the owner open an Excel file using the online viewer inside Teams app and then wants to add a note to the shared notebook or adding relevant task to Planner. In that case, the owner needs to close the excel file and them remember how to get back to it. Moreover, the ability to create multiple sessions per app is very common within Office apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
