Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
As we announced at Microsoft Ignite 2019 this morning, we are excited to confirm that Multi-window capabilities are coming to Microsoft Teams, and will start rolling out to the public ring early next year!
Alex & the Teams team
I need to be able to have my conversations in separate window from my other work that I'm doing. I have several channels and it's inefficient to switch to a chat to someone or about something totally unrelated to the channel that I'm working in.
Chat must be in its own window.
Please prioritize. I'm in a meeting right now and any time I get another chat I have to shrink the meeting down that has a screenshare going I should be watching to a tiny window. Unusable. Also sometimes need to compare two files that are stored on Teams, and I have to pop it out to web version for one and a Teams version for the other, clumsy. Simple pop outs of a any kind of window fixes this.

This is a critical feature to make working in Teams easy and convenient. I do like that Teams combines a lot of things that would be seperated otherwise but it currently also forces to switch back and forth a lot. I would like to have something similar like tabs in my browser to be able to quickly change between different areas of work.
There are times during calls, that sidebar chats are necessary and split off on my second monitor. I had to switch to Teams but prefer some of the simpler uses of Skype. Teams is so beefed up when all you want to do is have a quick chat with a colleague.
Definitely needed, It's a 'step backwards' from Microsoft LYNC!
definitely needed --- w/o this it's a 'step backwards' from Skype!

Its been developed and is rolled out to MS now.. shouldn't be long till its available to early adopter tenants...I hope.
Is there a timeline for this release!! This is a must for switching from Skype to teams entirely.

Any ETA on an update that would allow users chats to pop out into individual conversations?

What is the ETA on this feature release? I heard via the grapevine before the end of the year but do not see it on the roadmap
Honestly, this is a bit of a show-stopper for full adoption of this application. Our company is just starting to use this, but being able to open a separate chat window is critical.

How about now?

I'd really like to be able to have a full screen share display on my screen and still be able to carry on one or more chats. It's fairly often where I need to be able to watch someone's screen share and dialogue with someone who can't attend the call's audio--right now, the second I switch to the Teams' chat... the screen share turns into a tiny window in the top of my screen.
This make it ineffective!
Appreciate your help with this :-)
Found a "mega" vote on this with over 10k votes! https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/16926739-multi-window-for-chats-and-more
It's been ~4 months since the last update :(. Still waiting...

I would like to be able to see more than one Teams page at a time. This is a major detriment to productivity.
Most awaited feature for our users when migrate from Skype for business to Microsoft Teams
Tough to fully adopt and get rid of Skype until this key feature is ready. Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
Any update yet?
