Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
Hooray! Multi-Window chat has been a long-awaited feature, and it is rolled out fully to the general public. Please be sure to “check for updates” and restart your client if you aren’t seeing it.

Would be great to have the chat separately. We work from teams all the time and chatting also from there with remote teams. It is sometimes inconvenient to go back and forth. Would be great to have tabs also to be able to go from one page to another

I would also like to support multiple window support for Teams. I need to be able to have multiple file, channel, chat and other windows at once if I'm going to work productively in teams. Files can be opened locally in their native apps alleviating some of the issue but native Teams functions really need to be able to be open simultaneously in multiple windows.
Whats the ETA for this? This is holding us back from switching fully over from Skype for Biz to Teams and stuck running both till this is fixed. This should be top priority! Who thought it would be a good idea to minimize a active teams mtg instead of a pop-out, so you can see another chat or team message.
Must have feature - can you please prioritise accordingly. Despite all the other much appreciated integration features across 365 - the lack of this makes us miss Webex!
This is definitely a feature that I would like to see in Microsoft Teams. For those who multitask by being on calls and chats at the same time it is a definite loss of functionality when moving from Skype. Being able to be on a call, see the shared screen and be on an internal chat with your coworkers that are on that call is a huge help. Having to toggle between windows is cumbersome and not very user friendly.
It would also be nice if a whole team could be popped out. Especially useful when you have OneNote or similar office app open in teams while needing to chat on other teams or use apps on other teams.
Sure, I'll pile on. Without the ability to pop a chat or meeting window out, it's frustratingly difficult (arguably impossible) to multitask. +1s to everyone wondering how this requirement has been left out since Day 1.
Please add this functionality as it would greatly enhance our day to day operations.

@Kw and Alice,
Teams gives you the option to edit Office documents in Teams, but also to open up those documents using a web browser or the Office desktop app. If you're working with PDFs you have to download them anyway to edit, but working with Office documents should not be a show-stopper because it opens to the desktop app and automatically saves changes, no local copy on the desktop necessary. Open as many documents up as you want this way, each of them will be in their own window.
But, having multiple 1:1 chats open simultaneously is a convenience I'd really like to have, so I am glad they are working on bringing this functionality to Teams.
I think this will be a show-stopper for our company in using teams. There is simply no way we can expect our employees to only have one document open at a time.
The result is that they just save everything to their desktop and work from that, rendering the whole thing pointless.
It would be great to be able to view multiple files in separate windows as well...
any idea when this capability will be available?
This should be required functionality.

Simply needed and is a huge gap.... we all need to be able to multitask with chats and be part of meetings :)
This functionality would be great.

Being able to have multiple chat windows would be useful to communicate with individual team members simultaneously. This also would allow the other features in Teams to be used while chatting or presenting.
A separate window is needed for the chat function instead of it taking over the whole screen.
Is there a date or month this can be expected?
working on planner, spreadsheets etc. becomes seriously annoying in Teams when responding to people takes me out of the editing! :/
How was this not seen as a problem from the word go??? :( I love Teams, please fix it!! :)
