Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
Hooray! Multi-Window chat has been a long-awaited feature, and it is rolled out fully to the general public. Please be sure to “check for updates” and restart your client if you aren’t seeing it.

+1 can we push this out into a teams beta or coming soon function like in outlook

Agree with the top level request.
Can you implement an immediate release of whatever you have implemented/tested so far? This feature is almost paramount to the collaboration experience, and with global pandemic plans and upticks in WFH this is more important than ever.

Agreed, it would be great to be able to opt in for tabbed or separate window team/chat.

Would love to see it work like in outlook where you can select "Open in New Window" for any team/chat I'm using
+1 to this feature

Definitely would like this feature, It's really hard to run a meeting with 20+ people while presenting without it.
+1 would like this feature

Very much looking forward to this being released. We're doing an accelerated POC due to everyone WFH now & needing better tools. The lack of multi window support across the Teams app is something people are concerned about.
Business critical functionality for our company.
I am very concerned looking at the dates and progress. uservoice suggestion November 2 2016, status 3.5 years later is that the functionality is still not implemented in Teams! Skype for Business is discontinued beginning of 2021? Most likely loss of functionality then, when we are stuck with Teams?
PLEASE ADD THIS FEATURE ASAP!

as more and more of us are now working from home, it would be really useful to release this feature now :-)
Are we there yet? Multi-window everything. Obligatory tabbed experience means reopening files being edited in browser.
Hi, This is so use full and a great news. Do you have an release date?

This is so important. I have multiple Teams and we're using it for meetings as well. It's killing our productivity to have to change back to sharing, then losing where I am in a file I was looking at and so on. It's like you've removed the idea of Windows from Windows! Glad to hear it's on its way.

The ability to undock chat / calls from the other windows is the most important feature. It should have been that way from the start, so I'm not that much interested in 'future multi-window experiences of the highest quality', I want a resolution now for what should be a collaboration platform.

Is there any update? As more people are having to work from home, and attend more meetings in Teams, this has become a bigger issue. Do we have a date for the rollout?

Anonymous - you can already do multi-person video chat in Teams. Not sure what you're referring to. This item is around the ability to have pop-out windows, to drag different modalities to different monitors, or drag around on the same screen.
As someone who is part of the testing, most people will be content with what's coming.
How can it not be possible to have a multi person video chat in 2020. Come one Microsoft, sort it out ASAP

Not just chat windows, butt meetings too!
I usually like to put my meetings on a separate external monitor or TV to watch as the meeting goes on, but still want the main teams window with chats and such on my primary monitor
