Multi-window for chats and more
I want to have separate top-level windows for each person I'm chatting with, rather than tabs.
Hooray! Multi-Window chat has been a long-awaited feature, and it is rolled out fully to the general public. Please be sure to “check for updates” and restart your client if you aren’t seeing it.

That would be fantastic when possible!

Will the multi-window functionality be available for other components of teams besides Chat?
Similar to WebEx, it will be nice to be able to view certain components/tabs in a different windows e.g. list of participants can pop out from a full screen being shared, chat can pop out from an integrated tool tab, etc...

Any indication when this functionality will be rolled out? I've got a situation now where I'm in a lengthy chat and I want to search for a post in a different team. to be able to right-click and select open in new window, much like Outlook, would be perfect. I now have to open MS Teams online in order to search for the post.
looking forward to hear when it will be available!
Any development on this? This is a key feature for meetings when you have to share content. This is an option with Skype and as we migrate it would be important to keep
Key feature for working from home during the coronavirus lockdown. please implement.
wish my company didn't migrate from skype for business to ms team, given feature comparity is way off at this point in time. Please, please push multi-window to production.
Thanks for working on this improvement/ Relying on many more simultaneous meetings and chats on Teams now that I am WFH (as are many here).
I know Microsoft is using this internally, when do the rest of us get it, i have 8000 users waiting on it...

With the CORVID-19 pandemic, many of us are working remotely. As one of many users with hearing impairment on Teams, some of us heavily rely on lipreading. Due to the inability to separate presentation from video chat (like we used to have with Skype), I've found communication challenging because I am currently having to toggle between screens to see and understand what is going on. By toggling between screens, I miss things in the process. I would encourage making this accessibility feature a priority to ensure those with hearing impairment can overcome communication challenges during this time.

Please release it in developer preview so that we can use it!

Adding yet another vote for this. How many people have to emphasize that we're all working from home right now before someone pushes the button to implement whatever is "done" as of this moment? Almost anything would be better than not having this functionality for one more day. This wait is ridiculous.
any idea on a date of release of this new feature?
We are eager to use this at our company
The only bad thing about Teams compared to Skype is the lack of function to open multiple windows or have separete tabs inside Teams - like any web-browser on the market!!!!

@Ralf, the best way now is to open other sessions in a web browser instead of the Teams app.
I agree, I'd like to see this and the new background feature released ASAP with everyone working from home.
With everyone working from home right now, and relying on Teams, please push the multi screen to completion!
My only workaround is to log in to the same conference as 2 different users, which seems like a horrible waste of resources/bandwidth.
I am using my webcam to show the wall/whitebaord in my office. How do I see what others are seeing (without logging in as a seperate user)?
I hope this is available soon. TEAMS is really good. Our university is using it a lot during social distancing. We need to be able to multitask with various windows open though. Any news?
This will be a nice feature, especially when attending meetings and speaking to other people at the same time.
