How can we make Microsoft Teams better?

Need full capabilities of Planner in Teams

Right now you can add a new tab for Planner in Teams. However, you are not afforded all the capabilities of Planner in this tab. Its really "Planner Lite." Here are some items you cannot do with Planner in Teams:

1) If you create a Planner in Teams, it will not be shown in Planner itself!
2) you can go to the group (in web outlook) wich is automatically created for the team and click there on planner and it will take you to the planner for the new group, which then cannot be displayed at teams, but the team was the purpose for the group in the first place?!
3) You cannot import a previous Planner into teams; you must recreate manually
4) Planner tasks do not sync from Planner to Teams
5) You can't get reminders for your Planner tasks in Teams
6) You can't choose different views (charts, etc.) of Planners when in Teams
7) You can't group by Progress of Planner items when in Teams
8) No view of Planner Hub

Please integrate Planner in Teams better and integrate Teams in Planner better!!

Hi there, just letting you know what we are still working on request #5 which is the ability to get reminders for your Planner tasks in Teams.

Everything else on this list is done, but if you have other Planner asks that you’d like to see address, please comment below with the URL for that feature requests (then I can merge all these UserVoice requests to this one master request). Then I’ll update the body of this request with all of the new feature requests related to Planner.

    Thanks,
    Suphatra

Love the new update today with team plans showing up in the hub. Keep up the great work.

        3) You cannot import a previous Planner into teams; you must recreate manually

This is not fully resolved. You cannot import a Planner that was created in Planner recently. Only Plans that where created in Teams will show up under Existing.

Thank you Warren for the update! Love the added functionality, and advocating within my org now.

Only question - (3) Importing existing non-team-planners into teams. From within Teams can see 'my tasks' listing all non-team plans, but can't click them, nor are they listed as addable on Channels. Could you nudge us to the (3) feature please?

Newer to O365 - does this mean these fixes are already released, or is there a defined release schedule?

And, thanks for working on this, it will be a great addition!

Thanks very much for the update Warren. I noticed (1) started working late last week. Good of you to confirm this and the other points. Planner is an extremely important tool -- it has brought substantial improvements to task accountability across our geographically/timezone diverse team. Having full integration of Planner in to Teams will be wonderful.

This lack of full integration makes it difficult to train end users on the various components of Office 365.

We've wasted hours trying to figure out where the plans, created from Teams channels, actually live on the web.

Having the button to navigate to full planner feature works well. But what can really help is if you can @mention members in the task comments rather than sending email to the group for every comment.

It's very important to be able to create a team based on a previus group or planner!!! And also to edit planners depending on channels.

I'm trying to move my company to use Teams for better project mgmt and if they have to leave the Teams app to see the full Planner (for Charts and Schedule) they won't use it! So much friction. PLEASE integrate Planner more robustly in Teams, really need that Charts and Schedule views!

Keep going, we are all behind you.:-) What number of votes do you need to push this?

Well Warren - why do you keep the option in Teams to create a Planner tab link, if you and MS know it does not work? If this is some secret plot to p!ss off your customers, it is working brilliantly.

My two bobs worth - get Asana and link it as an app to Teams. Planner is a complete joke. Linking Teams and Planner would be the Abbott and Costello of linked in apps. It is absolutely absurd that you can easily link in a non-MS app like Asana to Teams, but the link to MS Planner is all over the place...MS seems to specialise these days in releasing half-baked apps to its customers who then have to waste hours and days dealing with their deficiencies.

additional bug, if you change the task on outlook calendar say from 3 days to one day, it will get sync to planner teams to do list but in planner schedule it will still remain as 3 days.

Another few features that would really make planner + teams usable for real:
        - Easy Status reports for a plan.
        - Easy import/export of tasks, assignee, updates etc. would also enable setup of standardized plans for re-occuring mini projects.
        - easier linking of interdependent tasks within and between plans... and to milestones / parent tasks and a set of Communication tasks
